If you can stop here, you DEFINITELY should! We were driving from Vegas to Zion and wanted lunch. I had the chicken tamales and my husband had the green enchiladas. The food is extremely fresh and homemade. There is old fashioned Coca-Cola with cane sugar too. What a treat. I am going to be dreaming about these tamales. I would go out of my way for this delicious food when I return. It’s made with love.

If you’re near Zion and looking for amazing Mexican food, you have to stop at El Rancho. It’s truly a hole-in-the-wall spot, but the food is incredible. The quesabirria was the best I’ve ever had!! Perfectly crispy tortillas packed with flavorful meat, and the consommé was rich and so good for dipping.
The tamales were also amazing; super fresh, soft, and full of flavor. You can tell everything is made with care. And the salsa is a local county award winner, which makes sense after tasting it. It’s fresh, flavorful, and the perfect addition to everything on the table.
If you’re lucky enough to meet the family, they are incredibly kind and welcoming. They even shared all their local must-do recommendations around the area, which made the experience feel even more special.
This place is all about authentic, delicious food – best post hike or pre hike breakfast meals. If you’re visiting Zion and want a memorable meal, El Rancho is absolutely worth the stop.

Visiting Zion and after a day of exploring and hiking we wanted a great meal. We found it at this local restaurant which caught our attention. I ordered a mulitas (one chicken and on carne asada). I couldn’t finish them, but warmed them next morning for breakfast, and they were still fabulous! My other half ordered a mulita to go for our next day breakfast and he polished off a Birria taco dish , chips and salsa so fresh, we couldn’t stop eating it! Both dishes were incredibly fabulous with hands made tortillas and authentic true Flavors! The owners son was genuine, informative, and efficient. It is clear the locals frequent here as well as we witnessed several ppl come in that were personally known by employees. Hands down a great meal!

A cute little restaurant that we were referred to. We love to support a small business! We were a group of 10 just looking for some good food after hiking most of the day. We ordered everything from the chips and salsa to the tacos, enchiladas and burritos. Everything was delicious and the fresh made salsa was so tasty, we even got some extra to take home. The owner was so sweet and checked on us numerous times to make sure we enjoyed every bite.

Absolutely authentic Mexican! I highly recommend! Very excellent service! I felt like I was back at my Tia’s house as a child being served a delicious homemade dinner.

Stopped here after a long day at Zion National Park and we were greeted by Lily! She took all of our orders quickly and we found out her mom was running the kitchen. For as busy as it was Lily was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a great end to our day. Thank you both for the wonderful meal!

Get the tamales – they’re the best! Pico, guac, chips, rice, beans and both the roja and verde homemade sauces were amazing. The sweetest woman waited on us – she was the owner, chef and cashier that day. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her food and cares about the customers.

Yum!!! Perfect for us! Wanted authentic Mexican food at a decent price and they delivered $40 for three people. When we pulled into the gravel parking lot I got my hopes up…..my kind of place. The food is insanely good!!! Thank you!!!

Great location, and it can get a bit crowded since there aren’t any plenty of places to eat around the area. The food is average if you tasted other Mexican dishes. The price is a bit expensive for its worth.
