We came in for my birthday dinner on a Monday night before an Iowa Hawkeye basketball game. It wasn’t packed, but they weren’t dead either. We were able to be sat in a nice comfy corner booth right away.
Our server took great care of us for the entire meal. I ordered a cocktail called Limelight and it was so yummy that I had to get another one. I also took advantage of the Happy Hour oysters. But, beware, not all of them apply to the special. Some are still full price, so be sure before ordering. They were all clean, cold, fresh, and yummy in my tummy.
My husband got the burger and fries and I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp, which is technically an appetizer. But, after all those oysters, I was perfect with eating the shrimp and dipping the bread in all the delicious sauce. It was just the right amount of spice to make me keep going back for more. We also split an order of their Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
We enjoyed our time here and it made for a wonderful birthday celebration. I wish we had room for dessert because it all sounded delightful. And I’m sure it would have been great based on all the other things we had. Thank you to the whole staff for making my day special!

Super cool down in the Den area, especially now that it’s decorated for Christmas. The salmon chowder was delicious. The Buffalo chicken burrito was interesting. Not sure I’d order it again, but definitely worth the experience.

Great overall experience! Service was great. We went for the oyster and seafood happy hour and we were not disappointed. Chardonnay paired perfect with the seafood tower. We also tried their old sol cocktail and it was delicious.

Stopped our way back from the Ragbrai Event Saturday afternoon. Mainly raw oysters caught our eye. They were perfect! The hot crab served with wavy potato chips was not very good. It’s kind of the bottom of the bag, for the chips. Chips-caviar I’ve had, crab and chips?? The lobster dish was very good. If only a nice piece of bread served with this would have made the dish delightful. Instead, I ran my finger and licked as much as I could. Dessert was the Campfire Sundae. Ice cream was a tad mellted but nice flavor. Aperol Spritz and a couple of Manhattans were nicely served. The server was ok. Tipped $50 cash on a $174 bill.

This is definitely the best restaurant in IC. The oysters were very fresh and tasted amazing, especially with the variety they had. Steak also tasted amazing, perfectly seasoned and cooked, truffle fries were amazing and the desert was really good. Good wine as well. As for the service, from the moment you enter staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Overall this is a must in Iowa City and will be a go to for me for now on

The decor in St Burch’s is absolutely amazing. I’d like to see them do something different with the ceiling tiles, just to bring the whole thing entirely together. Love the lighting. Love the booths. Love the photographs! They also have a bar underneath their restaurant with the neatest taxidermy (I inquired about the boar head). The staff are all prompt and friendly. They fit the aesthetic of their restaurant very well. Our waiter suggested the Voodoo Shrimp and dude, honestly, breaking the reviewer character a bit: He was SO right to suggest those because I don’t like shrimp at all, and I was chowin’ down. I took a bit of my sandwich when I got my main course before I even took a picture, which says something about how awesome their food is! The drinks were unique, and I had two of their tarot card themed cocktails. I preferred the High Priestess, more than The Emperor. Those who like whiskey would prefer the latter. I loved that they kept the water at the table in a glass bottle and that the water did not TASTE like tap water. I would definitely eat here again.

OMG! This deserves more than a five star review. And you know I’m a class a hater who commonly gives less than five stars.
Shrimp voodoo is a must do!
This is the best shrimp dish I have ever had. Imagine a poutine so flavorful that it feels like Jesus made it. Perfect blend of spice and salinity. They must try for every person who likes living.
Drinks or stellar and you can never go wrong. If it’s a warm day, try of the classic Bombay gin cocktail. Fresh light and tasty.
Lobster mac & cheese: Dope
Fish and chips: well served with a wonderful tartar sauce.
New York strip: excellent

HELLO to all my gluten-free Celiac friends, today my husband and I went to St. Burch tavern, we asked them if they have a gluten-free menu and they gave me a separate menu.. what I loved about this place is that they were so specific in their menu about the fries and anything fried because they fry them in a shared fryer. I ordered the main lobster sandwich with a gluten-free bun. Everything was delicious They gave me the salad as my side. Our server was Anthony and he was so knowledgeable about cross-contamination and changing gloves and stuff. So thank you! Anthony . The place was so clean. The service was amazing and the ambiance was very nice. I have no reaction whatsoever. The food was delicious. So clean. I highly recommend it. If you’re in the Iowa area. Definitely try them out. 🙂

Food tbh is just ok. Nothing spectacular. Fish and chips is not what I would go to. The fries are very good though. Drinks are good and friendly service.

Fantastic food!
We visited with a party of four plus infants. They have beers from the local brewery and a selection of cocktails.
The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive to our requests.
We had oysters (very good and fresh according those who had them), tomato soup (tasty), salad with chicken (very good), fish and chips (very fresh and crispy), the burger (very tasty, cooked to the desired point). But the absolute highlight was the Moroccan chicken: spicy but not too hot, tender, tasty vegetables. Highly recommended!
