We brought our own wine since this town is a dry town and our waitress opened the bottle immediately to get us started while we looked at the menu. I knew this was going to be an amazing experience as soon as I had seen the limited menu. Many people don’t understand how fantastic a limited selection menu is. If you see this just know there’s a great chance your really going to enjoy your dining experience. Limited small menus are great because it means they have a 1-3 day window of meats/seafood that have been delivered to prepare and serve so the freshest your going to get.
Every ingredient is hand made to order not prepped and sitting around. We started with the Brusetta, which was hands down the best I’ve ever had in my culinary adventures over the last 20 years. Every bite was such a delight to have 100% fresh ingredients. My fiance had the Salmon and I had the Short Rib. The short rib was fantastic not under or overcooked just right, I cut it up to get full bites with the short rib, mashed potatoes and garden fresh string beans. The Salmon was so fresh and wild caught like it was just out of the river. The chocolate sponge cake with the raspberry brule was too die for, soaked up the brule with the cake and it was very balanced.
Highly Highly Highly recommend this little hidden Gem!!!! You will not be disappointed what so every. We will definitely make this one of our go to spots down around the shore.
The so-called “salad” was a joke, consisting of just six leaves, and was overloaded with watermelon and feta cheese. Additionally, my cheeseburger was bland and lacked any toppings or condiments.
To top it off, we were charged for two bottles of water when we only ordered one. The fish was also outrageously priced at $40, which is completely unreasonable given the quality of the food.
Overall, I am not pleased with my visit and do not recommend this restaurant.
Nicely renovated dining room and good ambiance, but beyond that, thoroughly disappointed with our recent experience dining at The Majestic. The room was completely empty at 6pm on a Thursday (which should have been a tell looking back). The service team could provide little meaningful information on the menu, and seemed very naive to the culinary world in general.
Our food came quick, no surprise given the lack of guests. The Caesar salad was the bright spot of the meal, solid house made dressing with good croutons, however it was downhill from there…from the kids meals to the entrees the mains were simply poorly executed. The sauce of the kids Mac and Cheese was split, and was served with a side of vegetables that have been inside a walk-in for longer than they should. My wife got the Truffled Chicken, which lacked any trace of fungi component and was bland and unremarkable. I ordered the Short Rib, which was tender but lacked depth of flavor you’d expect from a braise. The polenta that accompanied the meat was chunky and bland. There was no dessert menu, as their pastry chef “didn’t show up”.
Overall, so much potential, but just not there yet. We were excited to give this place a try and support a new restaurant, but they need to step up their game.
We started with the beet appetizer and a caesar salad. Both were perfect. I hate when a caesar salad is over dressed. This was just right.
The salmon entree came with shrimp scampi sauce. There was a generous portion of shrimp on it, with artichokes and fennel. I had the hangar steak. Perfectly cooked to temp and flavorful, served with bearnaise sauce. Ketchup is house made and very good.
We wrapped up with a nice light lemon cake with whipped cream frosting and orange zest.
Very pleased with our meal and we will be back. BYOB is a plus. Attentive and friendly service.
