Worth the stop near the Fort Worth Stockyards — great food and even better service.
El Compadre Tacos y Más was a fantastic find after a long drive back from Dallas. The restaurant was packed and we had to wait outside since all tables were full, but that alone showed how popular it is — and it was absolutely worth the wait.
What really stands out is the customer service. The owner and staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Service was fast, and they made sure everything was perfect for their guests.
The food is delicious with very generous portions, so come hungry. Even though the menu leans toward Tex-Mex, the flavors felt authentically Mexican with great seasoning and homemade taste.
You can tell this is a growing business with heart. I hope they continue expanding while keeping the same quality and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended if you’re visiting the area.

Visited this place today for the first time after seeing it on a reels video and it was soooo good! I got the burger (the bigger one on the menu with the tostada and ham on it), my wife got tacos w/rice and beans, and the kids got chicken tenders and fries (of course). Everything was absolutely fantastic, and everyone was super friendly. Our waiter was awesome and very friendly, and even the owner stopped by our table to say hi and see how we liked everything!
Such good food and such great people! We highly recommend this place! Check it out for yourself and see what we mean! A++++++. Can’t wait to visit here again!

I ordered the chilaquiles mixtos and the asada loaded fries. My server was GiGi and she was so polite and friendly ,she recommended the mixtos for me and it didn’t disappoint. The star of the show were the asada loaded fries. They were a perfect 10 thank you GiGi for attending me and I’ll definitely be back. The one down side of this place is that I went on Saturday and they were very busy attending large crowds. Parking was a bit difficult. loved their cage de olla (molasses, cinnamon, anise), chipaquiles (the red sauce hotter than I expected, the green sauce was yummy), the tacos al pastor and the menudo are how we celebrated my husband s birthday. We will have to return. Bonus points for the fantastic customer service and making you feel at home. Thanks to my foodie friends who recommended this place because it’s easy to miss and drive b. Water is served as bottled water and there’s one toilet so be patient.

We’ve visited 3 times, and all 3 times the food, customer service and atmosphere has been amazing. Everyone is so kind and attentive. We’ve gotten Gorditas de chicharrón, tacos de tripa and tacos de asada. My favorite is probably the gorditas de chicharron, all are so yummy though. The Gorditas are homemade and corn tortillas seem to be as well. I’m from the south border of Texas so I’m very picky with Mexican food, but I think this is a WINNER. Y’all are amazing!!

Chilaquiles were 10/10, I recommend the green ones more if you like them more spicy! Both were good though. The pancakes are also home made so they have a really good flavor. everything was great and it’s a local business owner. I recommend! Our waiter was soo sweet and very attentive, I didn’t get her name but she was sweet and had great recommendations. We were also greeted since we walked in, and the owner was also walking around asking everyone how they were doing!

This was my first time here and it was amazing. The food was delicious as soon as we walked in we felt so welcome. I have twin babies and I came in with a stroller our waitress Andrea made us feel so comfortable and even helped me find a comfortable area to sit at. I ordered the Chilaquiles plate and a pancakes plate it was so delicious. I had to get a sick plate of pancakes. Lol the cafe de olla is so delicious reminds me of my Abuelas the prices are great! I payed like 40$ for all that.

We really liked it here. Wanted to try a little of everything and we all enjoyed it. We showed up at a busy time but everything turned out great. Everyone is so nice here and helpful. Definitely coming back.

Excellent tacos. Had the 3 birra taco plate with rice and beans 12. So tasty and fresh. Also had a pastor also excellent. Stay was awesome and very friendly. My new go to place!
