I visited this Krystal location tonight for a drive-thru order. I was extremely disappointed by the complete lack of service and the poor condition of the ordering area.
Service: A Total No-Show
I pulled up to the drive-thru menu boards, which looked broken and just hanging. I waited at the speaker for a full three minutes, but no one answered. No “Welcome to Krystal,” no “We’ll be right with you”—just silence. This forced me to drive to the window, hoping the speaker was simply broken.
Condition of the Drive-Thru
The situation at the window confirmed there were major issues. The drive-thru speaker box was visibly broken and damaged, with the order screen missing and held together by tape (see attached photo). This is not only unsightly but is a clear sign of poor maintenance and management oversight.
Despite pulling up to the window, there was still no employee visible to take an order. The only person I could see was what looked like a customer waiting in the lobby, which suggests the interior service was also neglected. After being completely ignored for a total of several minutes, I was forced to leave without ordering anything.
Final Verdict
I was looking forward to a meal, but the total absence of staff to take an order, combined with the severely damaged ordering equipment, made this visit a complete waste of time. When a restaurant cannot even staff its drive-thru or maintain its basic equipment, it raises serious concerns about the rest of the operation. This location needs immediate attention from a district manager. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this specific Krystal until these operational issues are resolved.

Krystal’s!!! If you love White Castle you’ll Love Krystal’s and vise versa. They’re pretty much the same thing. Like “Cookout “ in the sense that the food is made to order so it’s hot when you get it. I Love them both but for now Krystal’s is my spot. Foods fresh,service is good, atmosphere is what it is… it’s a fast food joint attached to a gas station which is also a truck stop. what are you expecting??? I just love those little steamed burgers and hottt crispy frie or onion rings!! They’re excellent!!!

Very disappointing. My Krystals were disgusting. I asked for no cheese, and they came with cheese. Never in my life have I had a Krystal with ketchup on it, and mine had ketchup on them. The first ones I just ate the meat and bottom bun. But I couldn’t even finish the last one because it looked so bad like slop on a bun.

Stopped in between lunch and dinner to place a to go order. Upon entering I spoke to the young man behind the counter, and was just stared at. Being a first time visit to Krystals, I really wasn’t familiar with the menu. Anyway, I ordered, and the same fellow mumbled something…I said excuse me…and he said “side”. I picked a side, he took my card and handed me my card back and my receipt. It was very evident that this employee did not want to there and did not like his job. At least that’s what his attitude/ demeanor exhibited. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. It was fresh and delicious. Many fast food places will serve you “leftovers” during a non peak time, but this was not the case at Krystals. Five stars for the food. One star for service. The only thing said to me during my entire experience was “side”. I’ll probably visit again because the food made up for a rude employee. I do realize that help is hard to come by these days, but this person needed to be somewhere else.

Customer service is really lagging. There was no one at the front to take my order & the employees that were there didn’t look like they even wanted to do so. It took forever to order & the cashier wasn’t too friendly about it. The food was sloppy & not too appealing either. That is a shame because this type of food looks like it should & would be so simple to get right. Also, they have all of the condiments (including napkins) behind the counter so you have to flag down someone for that as well so when the cashier is already pissy acting it could be a aggravating situation.

We had a fantastic time dining at Krystal, and it’s extra special knowing it’s the last one in South Carolina! The food was delicious, just like we remember, and the service was friendly and efficient. Our sons had a blast stacking those iconic Krystal boxes – it’s become a fun family tradition.
