First off let me say I am a bbq snob and live just south of Austin Tx. I eat and try BBq all over the country and very bias to Texas bbq. But was missing home and saw this place that said Texas Brisket. I am breaking on of my rules of BBq by eating at a chain I am rating this a chain not a Blacks or Franklins all which I have had many times.
Great service place looks great love the military and first responders devote as a veteran myself.it was quick and zero wait. Very friendly staff.
Here is what I had 3 meats brisket pulled pork and regular sausage and a side of bake beans. It was fair priced for what you got with a drink it was under 30.
I asked for moist brisket happy that was an option. This does look presliced but I sear I saw them sliced. Flavor was good little salty but it helped cause it was dry. Bark was tough. But good for jerky, it has a ok flavor. Tender all the sauce choices helped this. Over all nothing to write home about but for a chain it was ok.
Next had the pulled pork. Very good I like the flavor plenty moist I think this is my pick and for a beef guy surprised. Again great with sauce. Little bark pieces really help. Not to greasy. Not much smoke but good.
Sausage is fine decent flavor good bite, not a fan of the sliced long ways good pepper and flavor chech style sausage works.
Baked beans great these would hold up anywhere little sweet little spicy good flavor.
Sauces are the highlight not that all my favorites but fun to try them all. We will
Agree to disagree on the Texas sauce it’s fine but needs more pepper. My favorite was for sure the smoky mountain great smoke. The BayB que also good. Not a fan of the KC one but that’s not y’all just not a fan.
Overall would I eat again yes when traveling I would. So from a Texan you do good. Sorry for being a snob when it comes to BBq. Only complaint was the edge of the brisket very dryer out for moist brisket.

Wow! That is the best word I can use to describe our experience today. The BBQ was outstanding and the sides were large and we could tell they were made from scratch. It was our first time in this restaurant. The cashier took her time to explain how their menu works (it looks daunting at first, but once she explained it, it was super easy to order). We got pulled chicken, brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, mac n cheese, baked beans, and French fries. All the meats were perfect! The meat comes out with no BBQ sauce on it. At each table they have 6 different homemade sauces and a bottle of vinegar, so you can choose whatever sauce you like with your BBQ. The prices were extremely reasonable and the staff was very friendly. We will certainly come back!

This was my first time eating at mission BBQ. My experience was awesome. Being a retired Marine & retired Correctional officer, I appreciate the fact that this place is pro military, pro fireman & pro law enforcement. This is evident as soon as you walk in the door with all the pictures, patches etc. displayed on all the walls. The staff are very professional & respectful. Great selection of great food also. I’ll be back on a regular basis.

Mission BBQ is a haven of good barbecue in the north. Before when I have tried barbecue outside of the south it is almost always a waste of money. Mission BBQ is the exception!

While it doesn’t compete with Texas craft barbecue, it beats places like Dickey’s by miles. The brisket was done surprisingly well. It says “Texas inspired” and you can tell they have done their homework when you even see lean and moist listed on the menu. It had good flavor and good bark to it. Jalapeño and cheese sausage was good. Fries were great.
Pulled pork was better than I’ve had at a lot of other places.

They even have good sweet tea! It’s hard to find places up here that even offer sweet tea.

Everyone was courteous and friendly. I would happily return next time I’m in the area. I love seeing all the support for military and LEO. Even spotted the patch for my hometown PD.

If you want an idea of what good Texas barbecue is like, go to Mission. If you’re from Texas and missing the taste of home, go to Mission.

The food was delicious. Except the fries were old and cold. We had the brisket, pulled pork and jalapeño sausage. All of the meats were delicious. The mac and cheese was delicious. Our friends had the baked beans, potato salad and Cole slaw. They said all were good except the potato salad because the potatoes were undercooked. The corn bread was moist. They do not serve alcohol. We would go back.

First time at Mission bbq, and I’ll be back for more! It was delicious, the best bbq restaurant I have been too. I got the brisket, which was moist and very flavorful, and I also got mac and cheese, which was homemade and delicious. The cornbread was a nice sweet cornbread. The staff was friendly and on top of it. Also, the restaurant manager even came over. Overall, 5 out of 5 definitely recommend and definitely will be back.

Their food is always amazing. Easily the best value, best tasting, and most consistent in comparison to their peers.
I can’t say how many times I’ve had their food catered, but you better get you plate fast before it’s all gone. Yesterday was my first online order. I showed up an 10 minutes early and got someone else order on an accident (same first name), this was my fault. The issue was remedied with military precision. I say all this to say, online orders seem to be boxed upon arrival and not left to get cold and they’re efficient and effective with their service.
