Wonderful casual spot in downtown Half Moon Bay. Not too large of seating area indoors, but if catch a beautiful day, there are several tables outdoors.
Eggs Benedict were well worth my drive over from Oakland. Prompt friendly service. Counter space was available at 8:30 am on a cool windy Saturday late February. I expect Johnny’s gets quite crowded.
Have to comment about their unique and original approach to presenting the bill.

For folks living in Half Moon Bay it’s home. For me, living in Oakland, it’s an escape made up of surf, beaches and breakfast! And Johnny’s is definately the place for breakfast. It was my first time, it was great, it reminded me of earlier times were a hearty breakfast was what it was about, to set you up for a great day!
The food was excellent, the ambience was cool and the staff was very accomodating. It will now be my to go place on my visit’s to HMB!

Stopped by Johnny’s on the last day of our trip. We came around brunch, so of course it was busy..this is a local favorite, so you kinda expect that. It’s right in downtown Half Moon Bay, which makes parking a little tricky during peak hours, but the town’s small and nice to walk around even with a lot of people out.
The place has that old-school, retro diner feel. They’ve got the usual breakfast stuff, along with their own twists to things, which was fun to try. Service was friendly and welcoming. Yeah, there was a wait, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the vibe.
If you’re in the area, definitely check this place out. Get some good food and a little bit of Half Moon Bay charm along the way.

I’ve been here several times since this new version opened and it’s always a great experience. I’m usually drawn to savory dishes but after trying my husband’s lemon ricotta pancakes last time, I had to get my own. Heaven!

Really great little family diner spot kind of like a blast from the past but less 1950s more French countryside. I recommend it for families or for anybody who wants to sit down and take it easy in half moon bay

Such a cute brunch cafe with a fun retro style! The place feels cozy and comfortable, perfect for enjoying a nice morning. The food was really tasty and fresh, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved it so much that I told my close friends about it right away and recommended they visit too. I can’t wait to come back!

Great food! Exactly the way you’d expect. Tried the Croque Madame for the first time and recommend trying it if you like ham and eggs together. And the Biscuits and gravy are always good.

Food is pretty good but they were so insanely busy. We had to wait almost an hour when we got there at 9:30. Servers were super busy so it was really hard getting their attention, and even when we did, they seemed to be in a rush and weren’t the most friendly.
Cute brunch spot w good food decorated pretty but I would not go again.
Parking is also not available so you need to find street parking but that’s like anywhere in downtown half moon bay.

The food was delicious and it came within 10 minutes!! I loved the ambiance, even the little touch of putting the check in a Winnie the Pooh book. The staff was very friendly and I loved their aprons. Very welcoming exept the door was hard to open. I can’t wait to go back and bring friends. There is something for everyone here. We went during the week and all the tables were full inside and outside. As a local I would avoid this restaurant during the weekend. The weather was fantastic.
