We came when it was a little busy. They paged us for our table but by that time we were already sitting at the bar having margaritas and didn’t want to move. So we watched the girls make fresh corn and flour tortillas, rolling them by hand and cooking them on the flat top grill. We ordered the biggest margaritas and thoroughly enjoyed them. I had the Carne Asada and my son had the Cilantro Shrimp. The shrimp came with green rice. For the next 20 minutes all I heard from him was “ummmm” and “this is so good”. Even the manager saw him enjoying his meal so much that he had to jokingly ask if everything was OK. Hands down the best Mexican food in North County that we’ve had so far. We will keep looking, but Casa de Bandini will be hard to beat with its free chips and fresh Salsa, homemade tortillas, and generally good food and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone I know who loves Mexican food.

On a Friday night with a group of 14 the service was absolutely amazing. Was checked in on quite often and gave plenty of chips and salsa! Food was actually delicious carnitas burrito was juicy and had a nice sear. Portions were big but not too big. Price to quality was very respectable. Overall I loved it and am excited to go back.

My first time here ! This restaurant is huge really busy. The servers are nice and friendly. I ordered steak fajitas were good except it was loaded with a lot of vegetables. The Tampiquena steak wasn’t the best some how dry and needs more flavor. I went to use the restroom and it was dirty and missing toilet paper and seat covers. I approached the hostess and brought it to her attention and she became so defensive I told her how expensive was the food and unattended were the restroom and she replied that Us the customers were messy not keeping up the restroom clean. This restaurant looks nice

Went 12/9/25 for lunch. Our server was Jaime and he was very good. Had guacamole and the mucho grande combo. Lots of food. I ordered the large sangria and really enjoyed it. The food was fresh and tasted so yummy. Busy at lunch. We loved the guacamole and enjoyed the carna asada especially. I would visit here again

Friendly and very efficient service .Large restaurant with indoor or outdoor patio seating . We had a large group and the service was Very Good . Musician s playing Nice songs ,Fun and Happy Atmosphere. The Carne Asada and Shrimp plate was very good. The asada was tender and had good flavor, Shrimp was also good , could have used a couple of more shrimp. Black beans ,Rice , guacamole and choice of tortillas also came with plate . Very generous portions. The chile relleno plate was also very Good. We had a party of 15 and everyone was Very Satisfied with their Food Selections and Service .

This place met my Mexican husband’s requirements for a “good” Mexican restaurant but neither of us would give it 5 stars. There is something “off” about this place but it is in that part of Carlsbad where things exist in a “bubble.” (I say this with much affection…Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, which is not too far away, and its surrounding area is one of my favorite places ever). The portions are generous, the flavor is there for most everything (I especially liked a green chile tamale that I stole a bite of off my hubby’s plate)…the margaritas are exactly what you would expect from this type of place (good!). It’s a fun, colorful family friendly restaurant but it also feels like it’s trying too hard at moments. I ordered something that was on a side menu…it was on the “lighter” side: mango, avocado, grilled chicken…not at all a classic dish, it was satisfying though because I love anything mango or with avocado. Their desserts are great….the fried ice cream, churros, flan, tres leches, and mango mousse cake were all delicious. My dad always asks the musicians to play something when they come by. It’s not the best Mexican food for sure, but if you don’t eat a lot of homemade “authentic” Mexican food and you are not stuck in THAT bubble, you’ll probably love this place (my brother always gets the San German which looks amazing, carved out pineapple with shrimp and rice).

I was really looking forward to tonight. We chose your restaurant to celebrate a family birthday dinner for my husband, and I was excited to return since we used to visit regularly. Unfortunately, this experience was so disappointing that it makes me hesitant to come back again.
Our service was very poor from start to finish. Our order was not taken correctly, and my meal came out wrong. Even more frustrating, our appetizer did not arrive until I was already halfway through my main dish. During that time, our server was nowhere to be found and never checked on our table.
When a food runner brought out our plates, he asked if everything had arrived. My husband explained that the appetizer had not come out. He apologized and said he would bring it and inform our server so it could be removed from the bill. However, when our server (Jose) finally came over, he asked, “The appetizer never came out — do you still want it?” This showed a clear lack of communication and coordination among the staff.
Throughout the meal, our server never returned to check on us. We had to go without tortillas, chips, salsa, and drink refills because no one came by to assist us. For a bill totaling over $200, the level of service we received was unacceptable.
The most disappointing part is that we were there to celebrate a birthday, and due to the lack of attention and service, the occasion was never acknowledged and we didn’t even get the chance to sing happy birthday.
I’m very disappointed with this experience and hope this feedback is taken seriously.

We enjoyed dinner here with our friend and neighbor, at his recommendation–and it was an excellent choice. We shared the ceviche as a starter — it was quite good, with lots of shrimp. I had the Mole Poblano Chicken, and it was really delicious, very good flavor. The other dishes at the table, which we all tasted, were the Cilantro Lime Shrimp and Enchilada, and the Ultimate Green Burrito.
The portion sizes are very generous (bring to-go containers, else they add a small charge if you want to use theirs).
The corn tortillas are pillowy and perfect.
