This was my 5th time catering with Ba Le (and definitely more to come). Owner Jasper continues to be absolutely amazing. Not a single event has ever gone wrong.
Before I could even take a proper photo of the setup for this review, my team had already swarmed the table and took apart the 30 ppl order, saying things like, “where’s this from? looks delicious” and “Omg, spring rolls!!” That pretty much says it all.
I want to highlight how Jasper’s team always packages everything so thoughtfully. The food was securely wrapped and easy to transport from the parking lot to the venue – especially helpful in Vancouver’s rainy, windy November weather.
Jasper’s team also labels everything clearly every time, with vegetarian items marked “V” and packaged completely separate from meat items. They even provided vegetarian sauces for vegetarian appetizers, which shows genuine care and respect for dietary restrictions and preferences.
This level of detail, consistency, and care is exactly why I continue to trust Ba Le with my events.
Finally, just look at the amount of meat in these sandwiches.

This is the worst BALE location I have ever ordered from.
I have ordered their nem nuong grilled pork banh mi three times, and every single time, they forget to add the sweet hoisin sauce. It’s like they don’t even know it’s a part of the sandwich.
I have called them after picking up an order in the past to advise of the issue, and it seems like they still do not get it.
Every other BALE location I have ordered from does not make this mistake.
Would not recommend going to this location.

Came here for a quick bite. Located nearby Ikea Richmond. Shop is small with a few tables and some refrigerated takeout items but it’s meant to be takeout mostly.
Order their #5 which is the special (dac biet) that has ham headcheese, sausage, pate & mayo. Also ordered their strawberry matcha drink. The banh mi was awesome. Bread was warm & toasty and the rest of the ingredients made the whole sandwich into perfection. The drink was also great as the strawberry went well with the matcha … a combo I didn’t think would work together. Would definitely be coming back here again in the future.

Banhmis are always on point here! They always get my special requests correct. The bread is so fresh and so goooood. They occasionally have specialty snacks (which seems locally made) available to purchase which is always fun to try!

Very good banh mi and Vietnamese coffee! Their coffee has improved a lot since they first opened so happy to see them switch to Hanoi Drip. Very good value for their food and kid friendly place. Not too much seating and parking is quite limited.

It was my first time ordering from this place. It’s small, with a few small tables. The parking in the lot out front at the few designated stalls is so limited that we almost left to go elsewhere. Fortunately, another car pulled out. The menu looks good. The bread is fresh, flaky and tasty; the ingredients are good, too; I especially liked the pandan latte as it has a strong pandan taste. I’d return if in the area and if I can park.
