Why Shabu-shabu? This dish features thinly sliced meat and vegetables cooked in a flavorful broth. The name comes from the sound of the ingredients being stirred in the pot, which is called a nabe, a large Japanese earthenware pot. Common ingredients include thinly sliced beef or pork, mushrooms, tofu, udon noodles, and vegetables like napa cabbage and carrot. The broth often includes kombu dashi, water, sake, soy sauce, and mirin. Shabu-shabu is often cooked tableside and eaten with dipping sauces like ponzu and sesame sauce. Because the meat and vegetables are usually boiled or blanched, shabu-shabu can be a healthy option that’s low in calories and fat.

We enjoyed a great shabu-shabu here that would be hard to surpass. The location is easy to miss but the interior is cozy and clean. The seating arrangement, in a way, directs customers’ focus to the food. Overall noise level is slow, which creates a comfortable environment for us to truly appreciate the high quality meats and vegetables on the menu.
We found the sukiyaki broth and sesame dipping sauce very flavorful. However, I would say the top notch service was what made it a truly five-star experience.

Going to U Shabu is my weekly routine! Nice service, food is always fresh. Puy, the owner is always there to make sure everything is good. Such a great hotpot spot that you don’t want to miss in Okc.

We really appreciated that each person has their own pot. We have been to other places that you have to share a divided pot. The waitress spent plenty of time explaining all the options and allowed us to sample the broth to get the best results for our pot. Everything was squeaky clean.

We were passing through and staying at a hotel near by. Saw there was a hotpot restaurant and decided to give it a try. The staff was amazing, super friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic! We had the spicy Chinese broth and the tonkotsu broth. These were some of the best broths that we’ve had. Trying to figure out a reason to come back here to eat here again!

Tried giving this place a second chance. I came here once when it was empty and it took anywhere from 20-30 mins to get your order (it limited food as well and not great quality). I came back a year later and same problem. We sat in there for an hour and a half to only get 1 serving of food and be over looked the whole time. I also tried ordering alcohol multiple times and it never came. Also over priced for the low quality. I recommend lemon grass hot pot NOT here.
