U SHABU Japanese Hotpot

Social Profile:

Why Shabu-shabu? This dish features thinly sliced meat and vegetables cooked in a flavorful broth. The name comes from the sound of the ingredients being stirred in the pot, which is called a nabe, a large Japanese earthenware pot. Common ingredients include thinly sliced beef or pork, mushrooms, tofu, udon noodles, and vegetables like napa cabbage and carrot. The broth often includes kombu dashi, water, sake, soy sauce, and mirin. Shabu-shabu is often cooked tableside and eaten with dipping sauces like ponzu and sesame sauce. Because the meat and vegetables are usually boiled or blanched, shabu-shabu can be a healthy option that’s low in calories and fat.

We enjoyed a great shabu-shabu here that would be hard to surpass. The location is easy to miss but the interior is cozy and clean. The seating arrangement, in a way, directs customers’ focus to the food. Overall noise level is slow, which creates a comfortable environment for us to truly appreciate the high quality meats and vegetables on the menu.

We found the sukiyaki broth and sesame dipping sauce very flavorful. However, I would say the top notch service was what made it a truly five-star experience.

Going to U Shabu is my weekly routine! Nice service, food is always fresh. Puy, the owner is always there to make sure everything is good. Such a great hotpot spot that you don’t want to miss in Okc.

I love this place. I have been here 6 times now. Everything at this place is fresh and delicious. The service is great. Everyone is very helpful and they explain everything with great patience. The food is great and I have never been disappointed during any of my visits. I go there atleast twice a month and I’ll continue going there. My favorite place.

Lovely ladies who serve you. They’re quick and easy to get ahold of.
All the food was so fresh. Wish they had a little more variety though.
It was cool seating but if you have more than 4 people, it’s hard to talk to everyone in your party. It’s shaped like a big U.
Their broth and sauces aren’t very flavorful to me. Needed more spice.

We really appreciated that each person has their own pot. We have been to other places that you have to share a divided pot. The waitress spent plenty of time explaining all the options and allowed us to sample the broth to get the best results for our pot. Everything was squeaky clean.

I had the pleasure of visiting for the first time today, and it was absolutely delightful! The food was delicious, with every bite being a true treat. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, creating the perfect setting to enjoy a meal. On top of that, the boss was incredibly kind and made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We were passing through and staying at a hotel near by. Saw there was a hotpot restaurant and decided to give it a try. The staff was amazing, super friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic! We had the spicy Chinese broth and the tonkotsu broth. These were some of the best broths that we’ve had. Trying to figure out a reason to come back here to eat here again!

U Shabu is such a fun dining experience. Offering a few different AYCE price points lets you enjoy very fresh, tasty food based on your budget. Their broths are very fresh and tasty; plus, they will refill your cooking pot if you need more. For the menu items I’ve eaten, their food is fresh and cooks perfectly in the broth. Whether a single diner or a large group, it’s a fun atmosphere for social diners or a relaxed and recharging vibe for those wanting more “me” time — yes, it really is both!

U Shabu was my first experience with hot-pot. The food, the service, everything was outstanding. It’s a top-shelf experience. Will definitely be returning, often.

Tried giving this place a second chance. I came here once when it was empty and it took anywhere from 20-30 mins to get your order (it limited food as well and not great quality). I came back a year later and same problem. We sat in there for an hour and a half to only get 1 serving of food and be over looked the whole time. I also tried ordering alcohol multiple times and it never came. Also over priced for the low quality. I recommend lemon grass hot pot NOT here.
