This was place was great! Everything was a bit pricey but worth it for a treat. Accidentally ordered the house margarita frozen, but the wife said it was one of the best shes ever had. Was pleased to see Gran Centenario on the tequila menu, was not pleased at the price, but it was a special occasion so whatever. Delicious spicy salsa with the chips.
Considering that there seemed to be two people serving the entire restaurant as it slowly filled up on Sunday afternoon, the service was excellent and friendly.
Ordered a 7 mares seafood soup, and a camarones a la diablo plate to share.
The soup was loaded and came with a pile of soft tortillas de maiz. The shrimp sauce was probably the best diablo I can recall. Was so rich and flavorful, they had to have used a bunch of bacon grease or beef stock in it– couldn’t figure it out but we tried. Just delicious. Some of the others items we saw in passing looked amazing as well- whole stuffed fried fish, plates of fried seafood- all on the list to try next time.

Came early on a Sunday, tried the Bagre (catfish) a la diabla. The fish was huge. Well done on the outside with melt in your mouth meat. The sauce a la diabla was mostly chilly paste on top of one side of the fish, really spicy.
Karoake started while we were eating. Fun music, fun singers. Service overall was a little slow, but good.

The food was well seasoned and hot when it was brought out to us. The reason I gave it a 4 is because I had trouble having a conversation across the booth due to the loud music. However, that is the atmosphere of this place: Loud. It’s very lively during karaoke nights where anyone can volunteer to sing whether you know how to or not. I also gave it a 4 because the price of a 16oz cup of coffee is $3. Love this place for the food and the music, not the coffee.

Been coming here for as long as I remember and my dad has been a patron for 20+ years. It’s great food, the best sea food I’ve ever had. It’s pricey so it’s not like you can come in every day for dinner. But it’s without doubt fantastic food. It also takes a while for the food to come but it’s worth the wait. Very great atmosphere waiters are pretty cool. I would definitely recommend at least come once.

I was glad to be back since about 6 yrs. ago. There is some construction going on in front but the entrance is pretty clear. The food has always been amazing! Service too. I was stunned at the prices. A can of coke $6 mineral water which wasn’t a Mexican brand was $7 (Crystal Geyser) and a prepared one $10! My beer was $9 negra modelo and 2 shots of Crown Royal was $30!! It’s not a bar. Ok enough rant. I never ask for prices anywhere I go because If I go out I obviously have enough to pay. This place stunned me though for being a restaurant that I used to frequent.

Invited to 7 Mares by a co-worker for a Karaoke contest. Her daughter was a contestant: She won 500 USD. 7 Mares is a popular restaurant where food and karaoke is combined. A Mexican atmosphere where Spanish, Spanglish are the preferred language. To see the karaoke show is awesome for the variety of singer’s and people with potential talent. Just to seat and having fun for a different night.

Close to early at 7:00pm for tacos, store was open though. They were sweeping the floor but did not cover up food, so I will not be trying out dusty food.
