I had the pleasure of dining at this traditional Japanese spot called OMAKAI Sushi in Wynwood. I went with the ‘OMAKAI Experience’ for $75, and it was absolutely worth it! It features 9 tasting courses with a variety of fresh, high-quality fish handpicked by the sushi chef.
The atmosphere is lovely and perfectly located in the heart of Wynwood. The service was also top-notch; I felt very well taken care of. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Japan, I highly recommend this place!

Really good! I’m totally impressed; absolutely going on my favorites list. The concept is traditional-leaning sushi preparation, in an accessible package.
Traditional-leaning in that the menu is predominantly nigiri, sashimi, and hand rolls. Accessible in that you’ve got some really reasonable price points for tasting menus, and it’s a fairly informal space. Of note there is no sushi bar; mostly tables, with a small drinks bar in the back.
The sushi preparation was really nicely done. Just the right size and proportion, well-seasoned rice, and some garnishes and subtle touches that went well with the fish rather than being overpowering.
Easily recommended and worth checking out.

Loved this place! Francisco our waiter was amazing, explained everything for us, was very courteous. We got sake on the house for our anniversay. Food was fresh and rice was amazing! The place is casual and it is really good value for money with different omakase experiences!

Christian provided an overall stellar service!! First time coming to Omakai and a truly felt welcomed from the moment I walked in. Came on a Thursday afternoon 30 minutes shy from their happy hour. However I opted for their Omakai experience and it did not disappoint, 17 incredible dishes. I also chose the Heaven Sake flight… Delish! I had an incredible experience and Christian made it all possible. I will definitely be back.

Let’s start with parking, Wednesday night very easy working in front with mobile app. Weekends might be full since I know wynwood is very popular.
We were seated immediately. For a Wednesday late night the place still had a couple tables with people.
Logan was our server, what an amazing experience he delivered. Offered recommendations, ask what we usually liked, and he was 100% on point.
We tried a variety of nigiri and we couldn’t stop ordering. The freshness of fish is delightful. Melts in your mouth.
Flavors very well paired to deliver an exquisite experience.

I was visiting Miami from NJ and stumbled on Omakai Sushi through DoorDash—and I’m so glad I did. This was my first omakase experience, and Kathy made it unforgettable. She was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming, taking her time to walk me through each course and offering great recommendations that made the entire meal feel curated and personal.
The quality of the sushi was exceptional, and Kathy’s service truly elevated the experience. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Miami. Highly recommend Omakai Sushi—especially if it’s your first time trying omakase!

We had an incredible experience at Omakai in Wynwood. We ordered the OMA and OMA Deluxe, along with two sake flights, and everything was outstanding. The flavors were absolutely exquisite. We just came back from Japan, and we can honestly say this place is very authentic thoughtful, and delicious.
The food was exceptional, the service was great, the music was enjoyable and not too loud. Each piece of nigiri was beautifully prepared, and the rice was absolutely delicious: slightly warm, with a subtle hint of sweetness. There was no need for soy sauce at all you could simply enjoy the pure, exciting taste of the fish and rice as intended. I was enjoying my food a lot that i only took one photo.
