Takumi’s ‘No ramen, no life’ motto has started a long time ago in 2007 with Mr. Saeki and Mr. Okada who wanted to bring out new tasty flavors into Europe. A simple ramen shop in Düsseldorf, spread out to the rest of Germany. Which has led to much more shops all over Europe, such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic and Austria! Our goal is to spread our love for ramen with new ramen lovers all over the world. Who knows where the next Takumi location will be?

I come here regularly, almost every month. Sometimes there’s a long line outside, but you usually get a table fairly quickly. The food is consistently amazing and very flavorful, and it usually arrives within 10 to 15 minutes.

I highly recommend the fried gyoza, they are unbelievably good. The homemade iced tea is also excellent, not too sweet and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is super cozy, and the staff is very friendly and helpful, which creates a really great vibe overall. A place I’m always happy to return to.

The ramen was absolutely delicious. Despite the crowd, the service was incredibly friendly and impressively fast. I loved the vibe and atmosphere—cozy and welcoming. Enjoying a bowl of ramen on a cold evening here was truly heartwarming.

Quite fast service with smiley kind staff. Ramens always come so tasty as well. Only con is the place is a bit too narrow and tables are too close each other as when the place is full it becomes really noisy.

Yesterday afternoon I went for lunch at Takumi Tonkotsu Düsseldorf Restaurant in Rotterdam, located on the West-Kruiskade.
A simply decorated Japanese restaurant and when you walk past it is not really noticeable, especially if you know that there’s a lot of tough competition in the area.
The staff is very friendly. When I walked in, it wasn’t that busy.
I was allowed to choose where I wanted to be seated. I chose a nice table just along the wall, but I could have a nice view outside as well.
Having a look through the menu, I noticed that the menu is very versatile. You can choose from dishes with and without noodles and if you want, you can order one or more side dishes as well. There is also plenty to choose from for vegetarians.
I ordered a dish without noodles, but with rice, salad and miso soup. Something like this is then referred to as a set, in this case the Teriyaki Set: grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce.
Did I enjoy it? Yes! I did! It was very tasty! The chicken was deliciously grilled and tasted nice and tender. The salad was delicious, fresh and crunchy. The miso soup was a nice change. And the rice? Well….that was just like at home. Nothing wrong with it!
I ordered a Japanese Kirin beer as well, a 40 cl mug. for EUR 5.75. Not cheap (a pint of beer is not cheap anywhere anymore), but it drank deliciously.
If you want to make it a dinner, just order a side dish with it.
Desserts are also available, but here the choice is somewhat limited: you can choose from tiramisu, a bowl of ice cream and a chocolate plate. I chose the bowl of ice cream and well, a bowl of ice cream at home is just as tasty.
Long story short: I had an awesome experience in this restaurant. The food, and especially the grilled chicken, was really great and again: the restaurant’s staff is fine! I am curious, however, about what the staff is like when the restaurant is completely full.
It is important to know that you haven’t absolutely lost the top price here. I paid all together EUR. 27.75, not including the tip.
I will definitely come back to this branch of Takumi, located on the West-Kruiskade in Rotterdam! Highly recommended!

Oh no, a line outside. About 5 couples in front of us. Some groups of 3 and 4 were seated in between because the large tables were available. We asked how long it would take because we had a show to catch. “About 10 minutes” she said and she was right, I think it was even quicker but I didn’t track time. We were seated, choose our ramen with a Japanese beer on the side and were served food and drinks within 5 minutes. Perfect. Delicious. And Quick. Would recommend! (Even when not in a hurry)

The staff was really welcoming and nice. The service quick, I didn’t have to wait long at all, and the food was super tasty. The place was packed, it’s obviously popular for a reason! I would totally come back to try another meal!

The chicken starter was amazing, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The ramen was decent, but I ordered the spicy kara ebi noodles, and unfortunately, the spicy component did not emulsify well with the broth, leading to a segregated mixture that affected the overall taste. The dessert was a bit disappointing; the brownie was very dry and lacked the rich, moist texture I was hoping for.

Friendly staff, fast service, and satisfying food. We had the mixed gyoza and karaage chicken: crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The tempura shrimp miso ramen was good: rich broth, chewy noodles, and generous portions.

Delicious soup with chicken—flavourful broth, tender meat, and a perfect comfort meal. The atmosphere was cozy, and service was quick and friendly. Great spot for a warm, satisfying lunch in Rotterdam. Definitely will come back. It’s on a nice bustling street, West Kruiskade, also enjoyable to sit outside.

Really nice Japanese food restaurant in Rotterdam. The service was great except for the fact that they were coming constantly to clear the table. Otherwise I highly recommend this place. Thanks for the experience!
