I visited today because this restaurant advertises gluten-free fish & chips. I have celiac disease and asked simple, standard questions about shared fryers and glove changes to avoid cross-contamination.
The response I received was rude and dismissive. The staff member rolled her eyes and said, “I can ask, but who knows.” I made it clear I was happy to not order if they weren’t comfortable accommodating me, yet the attitude remained cold and unprofessional.
If a restaurant advertises gluten-free options, staff should understand that these questions are about health and safety—not being “difficult.” This experience made me feel neither welcome nor safe.

The halibut was fantastic!
I think I had only had halibut once before somewhere else and I wasn’t impressed, but this was amazing! It was cooked perfectly and had a great meatiness to it. I also don’t typically like coleslaw, but their coleslaw is vinegar based, I think, and I loved it. The fries and fried shrimp were also good and crispy. You pay a premium for the halibut, but I think it’s worth it!

Been coming here for many years. Overall a great place and good fish and chips. Room for improvement, for sure. Please flip the fish in the frier so there are no raw spots on the batter. Also double cooking the fries to dark brown isn’t great. Otherwise, all good.

Honestly I think this franchise offers the best fish and chips in Windsor. Some are close, but none will match Sir Cedric’s. the breading is perfect in every way. I always get a lot of haddock and halibut when I go here.

Excellent fish and chips, great service. The only thing I wish they’d change is the fact that on Fridays, you can’t order by phone. You have to go there, order, and wait in your car. But as I said, the food is awesome and the staff are very nice.

Very disappointed in this halibut dinner we had big waste of money! The fish looked like a sponge, was hard to cut and it had no taste. Nothing was great about the dinner at all! And you’re building is disgusting just like your food why don’t you wash your windows from time to time? This is at the location in LaSalle!!!!! Just plain gross we will stick to Pat and Hank’s!
