Once again thank you to Chefs servers and all at Brix & Bones
We were warmly welcomed and sat right in front of the Chef.
The Chef was extremely welcoming & passionate about the concept & talked us through what was available as well as discussing and recommending some amazing Blythburgh pork.
As a former butcher myself & now someone that has their own food & hospitality business and is also passionate about local produce it was a breath of fresh air to find a destination that really takes pride in their produce & service.
There were at least 4 check backs and as I’d mentioned it was my birthday I was made to feel pretty special.
We had pork & venison with a few side, which will all incredible & flavoursome.
We will definitely return & as I live by the Suffolk coast and encounter a lot of tourists looking for great food destinations I wont hesitate to recommend Brix & Bones, definitely be returning.
Thanks for making my birthday one I will definitely not forget a special mention to an extremely knowledgeable, passionate & talented Chef.
Third time eating here and it’s consistently great food and really pleasant service every time.
The menu only has a few options, which is the sign of a confident restaurant – all of which is cooked fresh in their stylish kitchen.
We have a few allergies – staff went through this with me when booking, and ran further checks on the day. Once seated they went through the highlighted menu, showing what they’d recommend (they even tweaked a few aspects of the menu to suit)!
The food itself was delicately presented. Each dish/ingredient was cooked and tasted beautiful, and everything worked so well.
We’ll be back!
When entering the building, we were asked whether we had a reservation, and when going upstairs and entering the place, it became clear that they don’t really need to advertise their presence outside, as it clearly seems hugely popular amongst people who know about it. In a way, it felt like entering a VIP club…
The restaurant is much smaller than I had anticipated, and at first we felt a bit disappointed at being led to a small high table in the centre of the room. But when we realised what a special place it is, all hint of a disappointment instantly vanished.
Meat cannot be selected from an ordinary menu, but must be ordered off handwritten boards, and there is only a very limited number of each cut, clearly labelled from which farm they come from. It’s all about local produce, quality and presentation.
This is a very special place, very different from ordinary steak houses, and it turned out to be the perfect place for my birthday meal!
