I wanted to give a five star rating but I just couldn’t. The menu is huge, prices are awesome and service was outstanding. But the food was just okay. Nothing had seasoning on it. My son got the chili burger and the chili wasn’t hot. My husband’s club sandwich was good and so was the biscuits and gravy. I wouldn’t not go back, but just know that you will have to add lots of salt and pepper.

You could drive past this place 20 times and not realize it’s a restaurant. Faded paint, aged look and feel, with and if you come in from the west entrance you’ll have to work your way through a gauntlet of boxes piled up. But you know what? That’s what makes it home for the dozens of regulars want it just the way it is. The server brings out drinks to the locals before they’ve even sat down. The patrons know everyone’s order – not just their own. It’s not a restaurant for judgmental outsiders, or anyone trying to compare it to a franchise.
Every town has a place like this- and this one does it well.

Mikey’s Family Restaurant in West Union, Ohio is a place I truly appreciate, but what really makes it special is the service — especially Nikki. She is hands down the only waitress who always gets the orders right and somehow manages to run the entire place by herself when it gets busy. Watching her hustle nonstop, remember everyone’s orders, and still keep everything moving is impressive.
On top of that, Nikki’s sassiness is something everyone loves. She has the perfect mix of humor, attitude, and heart that makes the experience fun and memorable. Even when she’s running around doing a hundred things at once, she keeps customers laughing and feeling taken care of. Mikey’s is lucky to have her, and it wouldn’t be the same without her. Great food, great service, and a waitress who truly makes the place feel like home.

Mikey’s was a nice place to stop for a very inexpensive meal. Nothing fancy to pull into for a bite but the hospitality and good food is worth a thousand words. We enjoyed trying different sides with our appetizers and the food spoke to my soul as it’s flavor reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking and dishes I learned to cook from scratch as a kid, the gravy tasted just like my own and the corn bread was slightly sweet but not too much. The cabbage was on point! I also got an additional bowl of brown beans or pinto beans and corn bread to go back to Michigan with me! The homemade fries were so good we had additional orders. We got 3 drinks, 4 meals, 2 appetizers and 3 bowls of soup, 1 cup of beans, 2 additional sides for just $50.00. The cooks came to speak with us when they learned I was asking for pinto beans,corn bread, and fried cabbage as an appetizer. Later one of the cooks brought me a nice bowl of fresh veggie soup to try.
I absolutely love Mikey’s and hope to return someday. I was referred by my airbnb host who referred to Mikey’s as the “Best Greasy Spoon” joint around and I must agree. Food was great and the hospitality made us feel like family from out of town.

I came in yesterday and Nikki was our server. She was PHENOMENAL!!! very efficient, prompt, and the sweetest! We got the pork chop and they came out perfect. We’ll definitely be back and ask for Nikki.

This place is hilariously dirty with bugs on the tables and in the windows sills. The people working here are stereotypical small town residents. The tables are really worn and the chairs are the molded plastic style from grade school. There’s a lot of debris on the floor from previous diners that left. The menus are printed on home quality paper and wrapped in those old-school plastic protector sheets that don’t really do much. I came here at the recommendation of someone I trust that lives and works in the area. I’m trying the chiliburger. One of the employees is puffing away on cigarettes right outside the front door. There’s lots of stains in the ceiling. The food is massively bland and cold.

fried pickles were delicious, catfish tasted alright but not very seasoned, the tartar sauce is a little sour in my opinion, only thing that tasted weird was the baked potato? i dont know how you make a baked potato tasted weird weird but they did. i would go back for just the fried pickles but nothing else really. amazing service though, the lady who served me was extremely friendly
