The food here is amazing! Burgers are so juicy with the perfect sear/crust. So many great hamburger combos on the menu or build your own! Fries are golden brown and come with a spicy seasoning if you want or go all out and get them with gravy and cheese (poutine). Make sure to try their shakes, lots of typical choices and a maple choice that is straight up VT! There are so many ways to enjoy the wonderful menu! The folks here have always been so nice and the food comes out quickly! Not a ton going on inside the dining room, tables and chairs are clean and available but come for the food, not a candlelight atmosphere.
Love this place, wish we were closer and could enjoy it more often!

The experience started once we opened the door. The atmosphere is a very nice 1960s-esque diner with classic music. The menu was well done and the cashier was welcoming. We got the all-American and Woodsman burgers and they were phenomenal. The bacon on the burger was crispy enough to not have the whole slice come out with a bite but not burnt. I ordered a shamrock shake that was fantastic. We drove up from CT to attend a workshop but I’d drive through a blizzard just for Buddy’s burgers.

we absolutely love it here. You can tell a lot of care has gone into the whole establishment. The burgers and chicken sandwiches are just so delicious!! Plus, great portion sizes. Their fries are (in my opinion) the best cut, flavor and crisp. Smoothies are exquisite as well. Staff is lovely and keep up with the pace super smoothly! We love that you can see right into the kitchen from the counter.
Always, always highly recommend. Such a fun and special spot in Montpelier!

A pretty perfect burger experience. I got a double burger with bacon, fried onions, and roasted garlic mayo and it was delicious. Crispy fries and LOTS of them! The maple shake wasn’t as mapley as a good maple creemee, but I’d still get it again.

Solid burger joint. The poutine is fantastic. Very chill staff, they get the job done. It wasn’t a super crowded day, and the team had each order out quick. Ample seating options and clean environment. Love the classic atmosphere.

It’s easy to see why this is the one burger place in town! I don’t think anyone else can compete.
Soft, fresh buns with delicious meat. Being new to VT, I had to go with the Vermont burger that has the maple BBQ. It was great!
The fries and tots are great as well, and my kid ordered a hot dog and it was HUGE.
The restaurant atmosphere fits the burger place well. Order in the front where there’s a large fridge of canned and bottled drinks, and then pickup from a window in the seating area. There’s a self-serve table in the seating area with ketchup, mustard, and maple BBQ (which is excellent on the fries) along with water and cups.

Stopped in today on our way home from picking up my kid from college for a quick meal. I ordered my burger incorrectly not stating I wanted a double. When I caught my error looking at the receipt, I went back before they started cooking our order and explained I meant to order a double and pay the small difference in cost. I was told it was an easy fix and I paid without realizing the cost. A single All American burger is $8.25 and a double is $9.15 but they charged me $4.40 extra for a burger patty. When I tried explaining it was a 75 cent difference between the cost of the single vs double they told me it didn’t matter, they had to charge me for an individual burger patty costing me more. I didn’t want to make a fuss bc the guy who was telling me this seemed like he wanted nothing to do with anything. I dont understand why he wouldnt offer to refund me the single and charge me again for the double? What should have been a $9.15 burger cost me $12.65 (minus tax). I understand my error in not giving my order correctly, but charging $4 extra for a burger patty is crazy! 3 stars bc while the service was lacking the food was good.

Old fashioned burger joint. Small selection of canned or bottle drinks. Nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed the music selection for the day. Burger was flavorful, as were the fries. Small size fries were enough to share. You selected your fixings for your burger from a list, so they make it to your liking.

Thought about placing an order we used to love the food here but the prices to eat for a family of 4, guess a treat is not gonna happen especially when three of our favorite items are completely off the menu. Used to love the tater tots and gravy and the fries and gravy – gone. And there was a burger that we see is no longer or out of stock that was my husbands go to….

Lightning fast, even for a smashburger joint. The best handcut fries I’ve had by several miles. Unlimited free sauces. Eating at this spot made me regret every 5 star review I’ve given, because this one deserves its own tier.
