Excellent!
I stopped for a shot of espresso, just to check if I’d come back some other time or not.
The first impression was great! Bob was friendly, acknowledged my presence at the register and I only waited 30 seconds to put my order. He’s definitely the light in the place.
I also ordered a PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE scone and a MAPLE PECAN scone, that I tasted while waiting for my coffee. Total: $9.25.
I didn’t wait more than five minutes for my coffee, that Bob brought to my table with a glass of sparkling water.
Pastries and coffee were great.
The place is tiny, so there might be a line all the way through the door and to the curb outside, but it moves quickly, and they made good use of the space providing proportionally plenty of seats.
I’m definitely recommending this coffee shop and coming back soon.

First time here, Tiny little cup about 2 1/2 oz I was looking for A nice cup of coffee she brought this little thing out and I said wow this is small I would like a bigger cup and she said oh well this is The way the it comes and I said well I would like a bigger cup and she said sorry you’ll have to pay which I don’t mind paying for the difference but she wants me to buy whole new drink and because I ordered half-and-half as my milk, they charged me $1. 50 more not good business

This place is buzzing! If you like espresso then this is where you need to be. They also have a good range of hot drinks. On offer are some quirky merchandise and select coffees.
The interior is tastefully decorated with fantastic seating. So pleased that there was no loud music.
My Chai Fieri Latte was delicious. My partner had Ethiopian Drip Coffee and he enjoyed it.
The staff are friendly.
They have a carpark. Off street parking is available (free at certain days/times).

I really want to give this place five stars, but I just ordered a snug 12 oz coffee to go. After the foam it was probably close to 10 or 9 oz and after a tiny sip or two, the coffee was already more than halfway gone. So disappointing because I really enjoy this coffee, but I won’t be paying $7 for it again. Wishing this place all the best as I love supporting local businesses!

Genuinely the best coffee shop in all of Rochester. I am always trying to bring people to Ugly Duck to experience how delicious their coffee tastes. Staff is always friendly, the space is super welcoming, and of course, the coffee is fantastic. Love their merch as well- I’m always wearing that Ugly yellow beanie! Keep up the great work yall.

Several great options to choose from, including beans roasted locally, a rotation of visiting roasters, hot chocolate, and other warming drinks like the Snug and the Sun Salutation. They take pride in their craft, curate amazing sweets from partners like Black Cat Baking, showcase local artists, and bring together a community of both customers and industry peers.

This is one of Rochester highest quality coffee shops. You’ll find some top notch coffee here for a very good price. These guys know what they’re doing. They also have the best matcha latte that I can find in Rochester. The service is excellent, never had to wait more than 5-10minutes for my drink.

Ugly Duck is the best coffee shop in Rochester. The drink selection is amazing, the staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is super chill. My wife and I drive 40 minutes out of the way to go get coffee here. I highly recommend.

Every time I visit Ugly Duck, the baristas are warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. They’re always ready with great recommendations or just a friendly chat. I recently developed a dairy allergy and they have been incredibly helpful in making me feel safe in eating and drinking here. I love coming here, and I often leave already looking forward to my next visit. They are even family friendly and have a changing table in their restroom, as a mom of two littles this makes a huge impact. The coffee is outstanding and truly some of the best you’ll find in Rochester.
