What a blessing and a true GEM of Elizabethton. This local restaurant is a testament to small town life….Great food… Personalized and friendly service…. hometown coziness! My all time favorite place for a “lip smacking” cheese burger …. Everything to perfection. Y’all rock….highly recommend this place for an exceptional breakfast or lunch.

This is a favorite of ours! A small, local restaurant that epitomizes a mom and pop restaurant. I have had the soup beans with cornbread, the burger with fries/onion rings, the meatloaf plate, chicken salad with fruit and the club sandwich; all of the menu items have been good! When you walk in you can find an open table to sit down and will be greeted shortly by one of the wonderful ladies that work there. It can get crowded so plan accordingly! Then while you wait for your food you can enjoy small town life. You can see the teacher who taught you and your mom enjoying the special of the day while the local judge comes in to get a piece of one of the delicious desserts that are offered. City Market is an experience all around and one you won’t soon forget!

What I liked about City Market is that they have that old school diner feel. Simple and tasty foods like chicken salad croissant sandwich and their fresh never frozen hamburger patties for their burgers are awesome. As for their dessert, it’s a must!

No sprinkler system. Tables jammed in. One small exit if there’s an emergency. Bottom of the bathroom door rotted out from all the times the toilet has overflowed. Mold on the walls. Very little ventilation. Dead mice in the parking lot. Paid off the city to overlook all these things.

My husband was told about this little restaurant and how good the food is, so we decided to try it for ourselves. I was very surprised at all the people eating there. My father is in a wheelchair and we were accommodated. Menu had a lot of choices. I asked about their chicken salad and the kind waitress, (Stephanie) brought out a small bowl of chicken salad, it was delicious and my father doesn’t like any type of chicken and he loved it. My dad ordered the fresh fruit and chicken salad meal, I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant with sweet tea, my husband ordered a hamburger and a chili dog. The fruit was very fresh, ( and it is seasonal), chicken salad was delicious and my picky husband said that his hamburger and hotdog was made exactly how he likes it. Reasonable prices and friendly employees

I can’t believe I’ve never tried this place until recently. They make a mean burger and their onion rings are the best. Seems to be the go-to lunch spot in town. They were packed to the brim, but still got orders out quickly. I’ll definitely be back to try more things on the menu

I did come back to try their breakfast, and oh my it was delicious. Perfectly cooked runny yolk eggs, the best French toast I’ve ever had, incredible biscuits and gravy, and great service as always.

Finally made it to try City Market, everything was wonderful. Food is fabulous, people are friendly, environment is welcoming. Definitely recommend! Can’t wait to go back again.
