Enjoying Life
My family and I recently tried this restaurant. We made a reservation but still had to wait about 25 minutes to be seated. The employees were all very nice and welcoming. The music is a little loud, but you can still have a conversation. The ambiance is beautiful with really cool decor.
We ordered drinks and appetizers, which arrived fairly quickly. However, refills and additional drinks took quite a long time, and the food took about 40 minutes to come out. The steaks were warm rather than hot and could have used more seasoning or salt.
I ordered the tampiqueña, which came with steak, one enchilada, a few pieces of jalapeño, a small onion, and a very small portion of black beans.
Overall, the food was good but not outstanding. We would probably come back for the atmosphere or to celebrate a special occasion.

We had a wonderful experience at Hacienda Calavera. The food and service were both outstanding from start to finish. The octopus with mussels was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The steak was equally impressive, juicy and prepared exactly right.
The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening. The only small drawback was that the music was a bit too loud, which made it slightly difficult to enjoy conversation at times.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience with delicious food and excellent service. I would definitely return!

What a great concept for the suburbs. The food was very flavorful with amazing texture presentations. We had my wife’s birthday there and they were ready for us from grwat hospitality and warmth from the host stand staff and our server, Jasmin. The drinks were a lot of fun too with some fun presentations. And we loved the night club vibe and club mix sounds. We will definitely return but, next time, with more friends.

The vibe is immaculate!! José is really friendly and attentive. He answered all of our questions and accommodate any needs. The staffs went all out for birthday celebration and they appreciate any of your requests. The drinks are very unique and delicious. I will definitely visit this restaurant again for special occasions!

Itzel was amazing!! Such a wonderful waitress and answered all our questions and the food she recommended was delicious! Very fun and festive atmosphere as well! Birthday and celebrations are extra special with the wait staff coming out with lights and one wearing a sugar skull face to take pictures with! Fun place and definitely unique in the middle of Schaumburg

Such a cool place! Absolutely get the empanadas and spicy guac! So delicious. The decor and drinks were just awesome. Great for a special occasion! Michelle was such an attentive server, and recommended great drinks. Will be back!!

We came here for my husband’s birthday and it was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious. And the atmosphere and service by Itzel was great!! The vibe felt like a downtown restaurant in Schaumburg, something different than the norm. I definitely would recommend checking this place out!. We will be back for sure.

We had a fantastic time! Our server was so friendly, welcoming, and fun. We’re the type of customers who love interacting with our waitstaff, and we had the pleasure of meeting an amazing one, Marlen.
My husband had the tacos, and I had the pollo de mole—both were delicious! What truly made the night, though, were the drinks. Wow! Drinking isn’t really my forte; however, their drink selection was indescribable. For those who aren’t big fans of alcohol but still want to loosen up, I highly recommend the Frida drink.
I could go on and on, but you really have to experience it for yourself—go check it out!
