Our dinners were amazing. The chef Adrien made us the most amazing dinners!!!! He gave us a delicious salad on the house, made with all kinds of delicious greens and fresh herbs, and the most delicious dressing from act!
We share two pieces of homemade cheesecake with homemade chocolate sauce, it was amazing. The best cheesecake I ever had.
it’s definitely the best restaurant in Long Beach! Used to
AMBIANCE – 5/5
When you walk in it’s easy to notice the rustic yet cozy atmosphere. So much so that you wouldn’t expect the high end menu options you’re about to encounter. Each menu appears to be hand written and although there are some more regular items, the chef often changes things up to introduce new items.
FOOD – 5/5
I easily would have ordered more than half of the appetizers if I could have but we settled for 3. My favorite, and I think many of the others’ favorite was the artichoke. It was absolutely delicious and paired nicely with olive oil and what tasted like a garlic aioli. I also really enjoyed the beet salad. The added Greek yogurt was light and the pistachios added a lovely texture to the salad. The artichoke was good but not nearly as flavorful as the other two dishes.
For my entree I was between the Iberico double cut pork chop or the bison strip steak with chimichurri. I ultimately went with the later and was super happy with my choice. I was surprised to find that the strip steak came out pre slice but it was still perfectly medium rare. I’ve had bison burgers before but never a bison steak and it did taste similar to the taste of a bison burger but in steak form which was really nice. It was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce went really well with it. My friend let me try a piece of her Iberico which the waiter described as the wagyu of pork. The pork chop was also delicious and came with a peppercorn sauce that looks kind of like a light gravy but was much lighter than it looked and complemented the pork very well. The pork was also cooked perfectly which is a feat in itself since it’s so hard not to overcook pork chops. Dessert was a deliciously light cheesecake with a wine based sauce and a chocolate mousse type dessert.
SERVICE 5/5
In our group we had one person with celiacs and thus could not have gluten. Our server was able to tell her what was gluten free or could be made gluten free. At the end of dinner the server thought one of the two desserts had gluten in it but then someone who I believe to be a chef came out and confirmed that both desserts are gluten free! Since it was a bridal shower they were very sweet and offered us little round of celebratory alcohol, though I don’t recall what kind. Three of us weren’t drinking so they brought out glasses with sparkling water so we could join in on a toast.
100/10 would recommend! Thanks for having us!
Never disappointed – good choice of wine and the Food menu is always exciting to read !!
