Forget everything you know about water ice—Scotty’s has raised the bar!
As a proud Philadelphian, I always defended our local frozen classic (we call it water ice here!), but Scotty’s has completely changed the game. My excitement for visiting my daughter at JMU is now entirely focused on one thing (besides seeing her beautiful face): getting to their stand under the student section at the football games!
Their Apple Pie Gelati is nothing short of miraculous—it’s a life-changing, must-try experience. Seriously, it’s so good I’m already trying to figure out how to ship it to Philly! If you’re ever at a JMU game, this is the essential stop.

I love this Italian Ice!! It’s Why I want to tell you about Scott and His Beautiful Family that moved from NJ. to Harrisonburg a few yrs ago and began His Family Business from a Little stand to now a Nice size Truck with 8 Flavors plus the Flavor of the week! His Italian Ice is Smooth not Chunky and it really is Delicious. You can buy it Small, Med., Large or Pint & Quarts. You Need to Try it & Believe Me, after You taste it You won’t want Ice Cream all the Time instead You will want SCOTTY’S ITALIAN ICE THAT’S HEALTHY TOO … I Have Food Allergies well after Eating Scotty’s Italian Ice … I wanted another but had to move on. I will be back!!!

I love every flavor of Italian Ice from Scotty’s! It’s so yummy! I especially love the coconut ice but, seriously, every single one is delicious. The owners are one of the best families I know and they are honest, kind, generous, and hardworking. Their kids help them make and sell their ices, and it’s truly a family-run business that they have put their hearts and time into. I love supporting them and I hope everyone that comes through Harrisonburg will have the chance to visit them and enjoy the many delicious flavors of Italian ice.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Mango is the best flavor, hands down! Blueberry mojito and cantaloupe are also amazing! Do yourself a favor and get a large.

We love having Scotty and his family at Grilled Cheese Mania. It has been an extension of what and who we are. Great food, great service, always served with a smile. But more important is the culture of love and kindness that they show to their family and customers.and that is so dear to my heart. Scotty’s Ice is the best summer refreshment in town! It’s homemade and made from natural fruits (minus raspberry, a tricky natural flavor). If you’ve ever had real Italian ice, you will recognize this as the real thing. Reasonable prices and friendly service make this a place not to miss. My favorites are Mojito and Tropical, but there are many awesome flavors to try and I am happy to get to do that on Fridays and Saturdays.
