I’m so disappointed they were pretty good but they were soft at the bottom. They weren’t as crunchy as I would’ve liked The bag of chips that you get on the side are stale They don’t taste good overall I’m very disappointed. I was really hoping to get some good Mexican food while I’m waiting on a field trip for a track meet and I’m disappointed. and while the manager was taking my order I was asking questions about the options for veggies he stopped and said.” if you don’t want to order, let me know I’ll cancel it. Do you want it?” and I say yes I want it. That’s why I’m ordering and at that point I just said that’ll be all thank you and he said OK so I’ll say Customer Service from management wasn’t the best they were trying to be friendly, but you know a true authentic friendly vibe not so much it was just like professionally rude kind of. When I called back to tell them that the mushrooms were grilled they said everything is cooked. It’s just not grilled grill like what you’re thinking. They just put it on there. Well then if that’s the case, it doesn’t need to be called grilled mushrooms. It just needs to say mushrooms because I was really hoping to get grilled mushrooms and grilled mushrooms. Do not look like this. It’s not grilled at all. They’re soft and they’re moist. She said yeah have a good day. That’s not her fault because I know she doesn’t cook back there, but I will not be eating here again and I honestly would not have spent $25 at all. I hate to leave a bad review but this is an honest one.
The food came out quickly. The service was good. The drinks were good. The only thing I didn’t like is that there is a 3% service charge, added if you use your credit card and not cash. However, I will let all of that go because the food was a 8.6 out of 10 for me.
Pulling in, as the restaurant is in the shopping with Publix the traffic is crazy. La Fiesta – Fairburn sits in the corner in a weird area which makes the parking limited and tight. However, I was able to find a parking spot and we were ready to eat.
Walking in, the hostess area is very spacious. There is a waiting area to the left for to-go orders, and the bar is directly in front of you. The host was at the stand and welcomed us when we walked in. We were able to be seated immediately and were taken into the main area. The main area is HUGE. There are booths along the wall and tables in the middle. The lighting is bright and there are multiple televisions along the wall.
As this was date night, I was not in love with the ambiance. Though there is nothing specifically wrong with the environment as a whole, considering the conversational aspect of date night and being in the middle of a large room, it wasn’t the best environment for a date. However, it’s ideal for friends, family, or even a date night that’s not as conversation heavy… Once seated, the hostess provided the table with chips and salsa and advised our waiter would be with us shortly.
Our waitress arrived at our table and was ready for our drink orders. She was very nice and welcomed us to La Fiesta – Fairburn. Upon placing our drink orders she gave us some time to review the menu. the menu is simple so you won’t feel overwhelmed and has all of the general items to cure any taco themed desire.
Once our waitress was back, I placed my order for the Birria Tacos (comes with 3) and a side of Mexican Rice.

Once the food came, I was excited. Everything looked amazing.
The rice was spot on. It was exactly what I desired. Tender, well seasoned, and authentic to the flavor profile of Mexican Rice. I ate the entire plate of rice and was not upset with my carb based consumption. lol.
The Birria Tacos were visually appealing. The corn based shell didn’t pair well for me with the meat and consome blend. The shell was super grainy and had a flavor profile that overpowered the consome. The meat was tender but not soft, it was a texture that was fitting for the shell but it didn’t melt in my mouth like I’m accustomed to. I will admit, these will not be on my must have list. If I were to come back, I would try something different. However, I will always get the rice!
Our Takeaways:
Not good for a first date.
Don’t get the Birria if you aren’t a corn shell lover.
The Rice is a MUST HAVE.
The service is good.
Parking is weird.
Ambiance is Vibrant.
With that said… Go get you some rice.
Sat about 20 mins w/ no vist from a server. When she approached there was no “sorry for the wait” or amy acknowledgement at all. I spilled my drink, & it sat for a while because she never came by to check up after the drink. I had to go find her. Never offered water. They were busy & I understand that, communication & customer service tools is all that’s needed to diffuse wait times. I have NEVER not left a tip, today I couldn’t leave more than $2 which to me is equivalent to zero.
