A Louisville tradition for at lease 60 years, King Fish continues to satisfy the seafood palate! The atmosphere is inviting with sweeping views of the might Ohio River. The Seafood is hot and very tasty. Service is smart and efficient. Miss Talitha took excellent care of us. Can we split a platter? yes! May I have a ton of ice in my tea, certainly! Talitha too great car of us. Our dinner was delicious and portions plentiful. A must stop when in Louisville.

Been going to KingFish for 38 years and while the sizes have gotten a little smaller, the quality of the food and the great customer service is as good as it has always been. It’s my go to comfort food when I go home to Louisville. Brings back great memories and still fills me up!!!

Hello I have loved Kingfish since I was a kid…yesterday my husband and myself along with some of my kids families (12) in total went to kingfish on Zorn Ave. Which takes us an hour and 2o to get to…it was for my birthday… it was the worst food we’ve ever had from there… you could tell the oil used to fry was very very old and it made everything taste beyond oily and disgusting. My daughter’s shrimp wasn’t fully cooked and my son’s crab legs were awful ( he got the 2 lb) because he loves them…not yesterday, he brought most of them home for the dog. Our bill was very expensive and had the food been good we wouldn’t have minded a bit… but wow… it was soooooo disappointing. I never thought I’d never say anything like this about kingfish but it was heartbreaking. I will say this our waiter was kind, very efficient, and so polite. We didn’t complain to him because he didn’t deserve it.

THE PICTURES POSTED ARE FROM ANOTHER VISIT IN 2024, I’M TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE TO POST PICTURES FROM THIS LAST VISIT OF THEIR FISH !!!! Mushrooms were great, Fries were good. Fish was terrible, it’s COD It’s supposed to be white flaky. This fish looks worse than fish sticks you buy, I mean the offbrand fish sticks., My husband’s fish was DRIED OUT NASTY little pieces of fish. Not sure what he got, but we got the cod., Like I said, it was terrible never in my life i HAVE I seen fish that dark and black and silver inside that’s supposed to be cod. $95 later, the only thing that was worth going for was the mushrooms. That’s sad, I see now why they were so empty and always are empty, their business has gone to the dogs won’t be going back. This is like the fourth time, I’ve tried them and it’s always the same the waitress however was great. She was very nice. Didn’t wanna run her to death or I would’ve sent the fish back. I don’t know about the kingfish in Indiana, but I do know the one on River Road is done for. i’m trying to put the new pictures on here. It won’t let me the pictures on here are from a review before. Pictures I have now from Christmas Christmas Eve 2025 the fish would make you sick to look at.

King Fish has seen better days in the distant past. Place was pretty empty and service came with an attitude. Hopefully, it will find a way to come back. I’ll try it again one day if it is still around.

Was expecting some mid-grade freezer food and was shockingly surprised by the hand-made fresh food.
I am not big on fish, so I’m not sure how that is. However, everything that we did order was well made from scratch.
Fried Green Tomatoes were excellent. 10/10 I am a stickler on this dish, and I must say these are up there on my list. Green Tomatoes had the perfect amount of green tomato tanginess. I saw another reviewer say these were bland. I’m not sure how that happened. There was tons of flavor and seasoning on my order. Cooked well, right thickness of corn meal, and came out steaming hot.
I took a chance and ordered the Coconut Shrimp – not typical for me. In my experience, this is a risky choice as most places give you something close to what you’d have out of the freezer at home. Not the case here. They aren’t the largest, but the Coconut breading was very unique- dark red color and breading had real Coconut shavings. Nice recipe.
Onion rings are made from scratch and are big ol fat slices of onion. Breading is sweet, light, and crispy.
Chicken tenders are also very nice and made from scratch. Generous sized strips were breaded well and cooked well.
Hushpuppies are also good. Oversized, sweet, and crunchy. My son typically doesn’t care for them but approved of these.
Caesar salad was good, as expected. Swapped this as a side with the chicken tenders for +$3.99
✅️ I took my son here for a quick bite before a baseball game at Thurman Hutchins Park. The restaurant looked clean, the service was good, and the view was pleasant. Good experience.

Two different people in our party ordered catfish strips both were not cooked all the way. Everything else was mediocre, which is very disappointing. We have been eating here for years but our last two visits weren’t good, sadly we will no longer eat at this location.

Their prices are reasonable and comparable to other fish places. I went on a Wednesday and ordered a lunch special of cod pieces and fries. I also got some yummy hushpuppies. The boom boom sauce is delicious. The portion was so big that I took it home and had leftovers. I would definitely going back for the view and good fish!
