We did not make reservation before going but luckily they had space for us.
I would recommend to make a reservation.
We came on a Sunday late morning to visit Achari: AM Cafe, and we were not disappointed. Everything was £5 or below. The portion size was amazing, and drinks were £1.50?!
We got a butter chicken bowl and it was the best butter chicken I’ve ever had, and oh did I mention, the portion? And the price? So so good. If you don’t get this in the current political economic climate, good luck.
The Masala Kebab Bites were delicious, and came with the fluffiest, flakiest roti/paratha ever.
For drinks we got a masala chai and a cream coconut matcha, which was hug and a treat. The cream coconut matcha was the first i’ve seen in Bristol, after seeing it everywhere online. It was delicous and healthy.
I don’t see why you don’t want to come, it’s tasty, it’s good portions, it’s good value. How are you not saving money?
I went for the mango chicken curry which was packed with flavour. The chicken was tender and juicy and the sauce had that perfect balance of sweet mango and subtle spices without being overpowering. It had a lovely richness that made it really moreish.
The pilau rice was fragrant and cooked perfectly, light and fluffy and the ideal accompaniment to soak up all that delicious curry sauce.
We also had a cheesy naan bread which was a real highlight. It was soft and pillowy with a generous amount of melted cheese inside, indulgent and so good for dipping into the curry.
The masala chips were another great choice, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and coated with just the right amount of spice to give them a nice kick without being too hot.
To start we had poppadoms which were fresh and perfectly crisp. They came with tasty chutneys that paired well with everything.
On top of all that the service was excellent, friendly, attentive and we felt really well looked after throughout the meal.
Also this place is halal for all the muslim brothers and sisters.
Overall a brilliant dining experience with fantastic food and great hospitality. Highly recommend Achari Indian Kitchen if you are after quality Indian food done right.
One little note, it can get a bit loud as it’s quite a popular restaurant and is always full.
The service is top class, people are very cordial.. the cook saw us speaking in Bengali and came to our table and spoke to us.. his native place is in west Bengal as well..
The malai chicken tikka is such a different taste .. picture might show what different chicken tikka looks in this restaurant..
The paneer butter masala is a bit sweet for me..
The chicken dish was good..
The Samosa (singara) was good as well.. my child really liked it…
The daal is good as well…
I recently stumbled upon this incredible Indian restaurant, and I feel compelled to share what a fantastic experience it was. It’s truly a hidden gem that deserves more recognition.
The ambiance was welcoming, and the service was top-notch, but the real star of the show was the food. I ordered the chili chicken curry, and it was, without a doubt, perfect. The balance of heat and flavor was spot on, the chicken was tender, and the sauce had a depth of flavor that left me wanting more.
This is a must-visit spot for any curry enthusiast. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return to try the rest of their menu!
