This is an amazing Japanese restaurant. The fish is very fresh (I’m a sushi snob), the service is amazing! Monica and Joe were awesome. This establishment loves their clients and they go above and beyond. The toro, fatty tuna, uni and hamachi cama were exceptional. Fresh wasabi was spectacular! Talk to Joe, he will hook you up. Monica is a talented mixologist and will not disappoint. Challenge this business…they will meet and exceed your expectations! After 40 years of sushi/Japanese experience I can honestly say that this gem is in my top 5!

Fish was fresh, chicken kaarage with salt was tasty, and ramen had good flavor. I wish service was a bit more attentive considering there was only a few tables as it was late in the evening but still plenty of staff around…my water was empty for a long time before anyone asked. Will definitely come back to try again and would recommend others give them a shot if you haven’t tried before.

I love sushi and sake so I am always on the lookout for great spots. I just moved to the San Ramon area and found Kinja online. This was my second visit to the restaurant in two weeks if that isn’t saying enough.

To start, there is plenty of seating, and a bar area as well that has the current sports games on. The tables and area in general were very clean.

Onto the food, the sushi is excellent with many different options. Don’t like sushi? Not a problem, they also ramen, various katsu, and plenty of delicious appetizers. I ordered the ribeye tataki, sashimi, and the cherry blossom roll on my last visit and all 3 of the items tasted amazing, were very fresh, great presentation. They even help with recommendations if you don’t like spicy food, etc. I wish I would have taken pictures but I will for sure on my next visit.

The pricing is very decent for the type of food served. For the 3 items I ordered plus two different bottles of Sake, I was under 100$ This could have closely fed two two people but what can I say, I have a larger stomach when it comes to sushi. The drinks were also amazing, I just ordered sake but watching the drinks that left the bar made me want to order a cocktail.

Lastly and most important in my opinion, is the staff. This place is owned by two brothers local to the bay area. Both them and the rest of their staff were very polite and professional, and I lost count of how many times they made sure they everything was to my liking and if I needed anything else.

Overall, my experience was exceptional and I believe I have my my new go-to sushi place for the San Ramon/East Bay area. I look forward to many more great dining experiences here.

Not really a sushi person myself but my wife and her coworkers enjoyed what they had. I myself had some fun saki and ice cream. I was also impressed that they have real wasabi if you ask for it instead of the green horse radish paste.
Service was friendly and the environment was fun with cool music.
*Came back and had another great experience. I even experimented a bit with some seafood things. Everything was great and the service was good.

First time eating here with my family last night. Wanted to try something new since we always eat at Amakara, but our last two meals there have been questionable.

Upon entering, the interior is cozy and modern. All of the sushi that we ordered was insanely fresh, and I love that they use real crab meat for all of their crab dishes/rolls – It shows that they care about what they’re serving to customers.

Highlights were the Yoda roll, the nigiri assortment, ramen, and they even have spam musubi (on the kids menu – perfect for our littles).

Service was great, and I love that they have a full bar. We will definitely be back, this is going to be one of our new go-to spots.

Food is fresh and small portioned. Not family friendly as others pointed out. Environment does not compensate for the price tag, ie, tables are closer next to each other like a food court setting. Service is 2/5. No one poured water for our table. No serving bowls, we had asked like 3 times.

Very expensive. 4 adult + 1 kid for $260 and we were not quite full.

Sushi $11-20 dollars for 4-6 pieces.
I would recommend this for business lunch or dinner, spend your corporate money.

20% tips included in the bill (I know this soon will change but we had to pay it, there were 5 of us not 6)

Here parking space is spacious and I found a spot easily. It feels like a new restaurant, the equipment and decoration are very clean. Because of this, the decoration is very distinctive.

I ordered Tinkotsu Ramen $18 The soup base is rich and the texture of the noodles is also very good. It is very interesting to pair with fried Nori . The fried squid was crispy but a bit dry, and I was a little disappointed with the Negihama maki( yellowtail roll ) The vinegar rice was too sour, which overshadowed the deliciousness of the fish itself, and the vinegar rice was also tested harder . I think this restaurant is owned by Korean, and Koreans always put sauce on the sushi they make. This is probably the reason.

This is Kinja Sushi’s newly opened 3rd location in San Ramon, joining the existing ones in Concord and Oakland. Despite the Friday evening rush at 6, the sushi bar was unfortunately unavailable due to limited staff (currently hiring as they just opened) and an order backlog. However, once seated, the staff proved to be exceptionally friendly. The sushi rolls were notably fresh and delicious. Our order included 4 rolls, a sashimi starter, grilled edamame, and spicy tonkatsu ramen. Highly recommend, but it’s advisable to call ahead if you have a larger party.

This is a place you need to go and sit down and enjoy your meal. I just love the look and feel of the restaurant. Bright, lovely wall art that you must take a second to notice, cherry blossom tree at one end and a mountain scape on the opposite wall across the restaurant. The staff was warm and welcoming and very attentive.
The sushi was very good and nicely prepared. Want to go back to try sashimi plate.
Grilled edamame was very good, with a nice little bit a char. Dragon Roll was very good also. Yuzu sake was divine, my favorite!!
It was a lovely dining experience. Literally, all boxes checked for us. We will definitely be returning.

Thank you Kinja in San Ramon for the freshest sushi, kindest staff, and aesthetic atmosphere. We ordered so much food but the stars of the meal were the Hamachi Maki which was so tender that it fell off the bone, the Yellowtail Toro Sashimi which melted in our mouths, Chirashi bowl and the best quality Uni sushi I’ve ever had. You can tell that the owners take great pride in the food and experience they offer to each guest and that the workers genuinely enjoy being part of the Kinja staff. I can’t wait to come back
