I knew I would be impressed with this place, but I didn’t know just how good it would be. The service is very good, people come to check on you. You don’t feel forgotten. The atmosphere is comforting and the food is out of this world. As a transplant from the south I am always looking for bbq that gives me the feelings that I would get if I went home to visit. This is that place. We ordered the beef and bacon cheese fries, the Addy’s brisket cheesesteak, and a burnt ends sandwich. The portions are massive (for my family anyway). This food is delicious. Also, I am someone who avoids eating coleslaw at restaurants because it never meets my standards. Addy’s gets an additional 10/10 for theirs. The texture is pleasant and the flavor is very good. The entire meal was a 10/10 and I can’t wait to bring other family here to experience the food as well.

We drove 3 hours for our first visit and I don’t even know where to start… We got the appetizer platter and there wasn’t a single item that was disappointing! Every sauce was filled with so much flavor and the chicken was cooked perfectly! I moved on to the brisket cheese steak sandwich and although I couldn’t finish it due to the large portions, it was mouth watering and delicious! I recommend coming with at least 4 to 6 hungry friends!!!

Went to Addy’s BBQ in Edison for my 21st birthday and it was a complete disaster. We had friends drive over an hour because of all the TikTok and Instagram hype, and this place did not come close to what they show online. I never write bad reviews but I am not the only one who experienced this mess.
We were told to hurry up and order because the food would take a long time. Our drinks took about 30 minutes and weren’t even cold..Okay fine. Then we waited around an hour and a half for food that didn’t even come out together. The servers had no clue what they were bringing over and were literally scrambling to figure out whose plate was whose. No worries maybe the food will make up for that?
No the food sucked and the brisket was the worst part. It came out dark brown almost black, with absolutely no juice, no color inside, no tenderness, and no flavor. It was dry to the point where it felt like it had been sitting out forever. Not “smoked” dry. Not “that’s just how brisket is” dry. Just completely overdone, tough, and honestly inedible. My girlfriend wouldn’t even touch it after seeing it.
When we said something, instead of handling it professionally, we got excuses. First we were told that’s just how smoked brisket looks. Then the manager said the top pieces are drier and the middle is better, as if paying $30+ means I’m supposed to sort through the plate and find the few pieces that are maybe edible. He also said he’s a chef, we’re not food critics, and actually said “you can’t overcook brisket.” That alone tells me everything I need to know.
Yes, the brisket was taken off the bill, but then he got defensive and angry when we wanted the gratuity removed after terrible service and inedible food. Nobody checked on us, the atmosphere was awkward and dead quiet with no music, and the whole meal felt like a joke. I put a pic of what actual smoked brisket should look like vs what was given to us. I ordered the smoke Oxtail With a side of macaroni and cheese and collard greens I also ordered the fried chicken wings. I was so excited for this meal smoked oxtail, but upon receiving my food, it was dry overcooked tasty like it came out. The freezer was in the microwave And then Sauce was poured over it these were horrible, not tender very stringy and dry. The collard greens were not that good. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good and the chicken wings were really good, but I returned the whole plate minus macaroni and cheese and it was still charged full price Even after I explained that it was nasty facts I ended up paying $40 for just the chicken wings because the waitress said she’s not allowed to take anything off no matter what the issue is as per management. I asked to speak to a manager apparently there’s no manager here so you run a business there’s not a manager on duty Waitress was very polite and nice and she was doing her job so I understand and respect that it’s to have a pay for food that was disgusting and that I would not eat and gave back to them is just kind of sad. They think they take some overcooked microwaved oxtails And just pour a whole bunch of sauce over them that they’re gonna be good and juicy. I still have pieces of this rough oxtail in my teeth as I’m writing this and there’s no exaggeration. These things are not tender or fall apart. In the flavors tasted really old And I got two different stories. I got they were smoked today and then when I was talking to the waitress at the end, I was telling her how they taste like they were out the freezer in microwaved and then covered her sauce and she told me oh no, we smoked them overnight. Maybe I’m misunderstanding and she also told me I could leave a message for management on the site which I did and I don’t expect anyone who’s gonna get back to me

I stopped by Addy’s BBQ (halal-based) and ordered the Meat Lovers BBQ Platter for $99.99 — definitely not just for me . The platter came with BBQ beef ribs, smoked brisket, burnt ends, beef bacon strips, jerk smoked chicken, BBQ smoked chicken, and sausages. I also had the kiwi strawberry slushy.
They actually gave us popcorn as an appetizer, which was a little strange at first but honestly held it down while we waited for the food.
The slushy was good, but I wouldn’t recommend drinking it before a big platter like this — it filled me up fast.
Food-wise, the burnt ends, smoked brisket, and BBQ beef ribs were the stars. Tender, flavorful, and genuinely worth it. I’d rate that whole side a 10/10. The jerk chicken and the sausage/beef bacon combo weren’t really my thing — I’d give that side a 7/10. I didn’t even make it to the BBQ smoked chicken because the left side had me locked in.
The wait time was quick, prices were fair, and they even gave one free slushy refill, which was a nice bonus. I’d come back, mainly for the brisket, ribs, burnt ends, and the slushy.
