If you’re craving a burger, head to Slabtown!
Our party of four visited Slabtown Burgers for the first time after hearing so many rave reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious, with unique burger options that set this spot apart from the typical burger joint.
We were also impressed by how welcoming and friendly the staff were, creating a laid-back, inviting atmosphere that made our first visit feel like we’d been coming for years.
Overall, Slabtown Burgers delivered on every expectation—we loved our experience and can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for great food and great service.

It was busy but worth the wait! We only waited about 10 minutes for a table. The burgers were amazing and same with the onion rings and fries! We also got a milkshake to share and it was great. Definitely worth the hype

I have been driving past this place for a few years and today decided to stop in. Its cute. The staff is very efficient, I like how the menu is outside so you can decide what you want before you get to the counter. To be fair we were here on a Saturday afternoon during the end of summer vacation so it was a bit crowded and noisy. I love the outside seating, it’s very hometown feeling. They do allow dogs there which I love but not everyone does.
I ordered a BBQ burger and it was delicious, cooked to perfection. My husband had a strawberry malt which was tasty but a bit thin. We ordered the regular fries and they had the promise of being very good but sadky were a bit cold, soggy and limp. They needed salt but there was none to be found. I’ll air fry them later.
Will I go back? ABSOLUTELY there are so many other things on the menu I want to try!

We were too hungry, we didn’t get to take a picture of the burger. The special burger was delicious though! The cheese fries were fresh and filling. Would recommend.

Slabtown Burgers, located at 826 W Front St, Traverse City, is in an old home built in the 1800s. You order from the counter, and the server writes down your order on a paper lunch bag. Then, find a seat inside or outside, and your food is delivered in the same paper lunch bag. The restaurant has a hipster, upbeat vibe with an array of maps and pictures from the 1800s. The service was fast and friendly, and our food came quickly. The burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes received high praise from the table. Highly recommend Slabtown Burgers and look forward to our next visit.

Slabtown Burgers is a great spot with delicious food and a really nice atmosphere. The chicken sandwiches were tasty and well-prepared, making for a solid meal. What stood out just as much as the food was the team running the place! super friendly and welcoming. It’s the kind of spot where you feel at home while enjoying a good food. Definitely worth a visit!

Getting a great burger should be easy and it is at Slabtown. Just delicious, indulgent little circles of heaven served up quickly. We didn’t get the pretzel bun option but wish we had. Maybe next time. If it’s nice out, there’s some outdoor seating to enjoy. Jacksen was our cashier and he was a delight.

Unfortunately I have moved to Missouri so I desperately miss Slabtown. When I came to visit it was top on my list. I was not disappointed!!! My burger and fries were better than I remembered. Highly recommend!! If you love burgers and fries it’s a must.

We were visiting from out of town and we’re told we needed to go to Slabtown for some good burgers. I got the Big Blue, and my wife got the Rodeo. We thought they came with pretzel buns because that’s what others have posted, but we later realized that you have to request that. But they were fantastic nonetheless. The onion rings are amazing. Mostly outdoor seating.

So, So Good. I tried to visit here 6 yrs ago when I was in TC for a work conference, precovid. Everyone wanted a true sit-down restaurant. I am so sorry I didn’t try it then!
I came with the intention of ordering a burger & tater tots. When I asked what the soup of the day was I had to have it. It was white chicken chili. It was very good. Has a flavor I can’t figure out, the taste. lol
The “slabtown special” was so good I ate it on the way back to the resort, in the car! It was so hot & fresh. I think I would like it again while I am still in TC! If you like pretzel buns, GET it. So soft and tasty!!
I enjoyed seeing the old photos of the area from way way back in day, while I waited for my food. The wait was 10 min or less. It was busy but not overwhelmingly busy. Eating inside is hit or miss. It was fuller when I arrived, thinned out as I waited. Just don’t be surprised. Outside seating is around also. It was too windy and cold for me to sit outside the day I was there.
