Great food and atmosphere at a great price at Retama Park’s new eatery. Fried Green Tomatoes were so delicious I forgot to take a photo first.
Google maps may try to route you through the stable gates, just ignore that and go to the normal frontside parking lot. You can take side walk in front of the main gateway right to the restaurant.
We had the brisket grilled cheese and the smashburger. Delicious! Check it out!

The Hitching Post is such a great hidden gem in our area! The food was absolutely delicious and you can tell everything is made with care. The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, and welcoming, which makes it the perfect place to unwind after a long day or meet up with friends.
The staff was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe just feels very local and authentic. It’s so nice to have a spot like this close by that offers great comfort food, cold drinks, and a laid-back Texas feel without the crowds.

My coworker and I’s chicken sandwiches were not hot, not even warm. The cheese on it wasn’t in the least bit melted. Looked like it just came out of packet.
The best thing was probably the fries.
Found a hair in the brisket nachos after already eating some.
They were nice enough not to charge for it.
Old fashioned tasted like water, could not taste the whiskey at all.

We tried this new spot tonight and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was on point; it was cozy, welcoming, and truly felt like home. The space is roomy and has such a great family-friendly feel.
We ordered the Smokey Burger with fries and green beans, and everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The kids had chicken tenders and a cheeseburger, and they just about cleaned their plates! Portions were very generous, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for the amount and quality of food. The burgers we ordered were fresh and cooked just right. Lots of toppings!
Everyone we interacted with was so kind and welcoming, which really made the experience even better. We live right in the neighborhood, and this is already shaping up to be our new favorite restaurant. We will definitely be back again and again!

Good food, friendly service, and a laid-back atmosphere. The fried mushrooms were tasty with a solid portion. We had the brisket grilled cheese, BBQ burger, and meatloaf plates. Everything tasted great and the portions were big. Definitely worth the stop.
