Sinbads has been iconic for a veryvlong time. Its location is amazing at the marina. Beautiful scenery. I brought my mother and daughter there for joint birthday dinner. Appetizers calamari and mussels were delicious. The actual entrees were disappointing. The king crab my mother ordered were without flavor as was the pickerel dinner ( no seasoning and my fried pickerel fish was wet soggy on bottom) I ordered. My other guest reported the catfish dinner good. My daughter has caesar salad w chicken. For $350 tab it was very underwhelming. I didn’t eat the fish. I was not asked if I wanted replacement or substitute when I expressed my disappointment. I usually bring my mom and 3 aunts for mother’s day most years but I think im done.

My wife has wanted to go to Sindbad’s ever since some friends mentioned their recent trip, so we went last night. Parking is valet-only, so be prepared for that. We were seated quickly. The dining area has a great view of the Roostertail. Our waiter was friendly but struggled to be attentive – I’m thinking he must’ve had too many tables assigned, because he was always busy every time I saw him. My wife has wanted to try frog’s legs for a long time, so that’s what she ordered; I decided to make fish & chips of the menu’s Icelandic cod filet and ordered it with fries. Our soups and salad were good. After a bit our waiter came back to tell us the frog legs were still frozen and would take at least half an hour to thaw, so would she like to order something else? She changed to the pickerel, which she enjoyed. My cod filets, though, were suspiciously regular, like they’d just come out of a national-brand box from the freezer, and, though they had a fair amount of fish in them, it was all in a dense, hard, chewy, overcooked mass – the complete opposite of flaky – which seemed really odd given that the breading was perfectly cooked. (How on Earth do you overcook the inside of something??) Neither tartar sauce nor malt vinegar really helped them. I suppose it should’ve been a red flag that the first item on the menu under “Sindbad’s Favorites” is a hamburger – maybe I should’ve ordered that?

Unfortunately it was a foggy day so the view was not great but with the windows I can imagine how wonderful it usually is. The food…amazing. I had read a review of the clamp chowder so gave it a try along with the side salad. I wish I had ordered a bowl and not a cup. Absolutely delicious. And the salad was huge. I sat at the bar and Dan was amazing. So friendly and checked on me often. Great food, great people and great atmosphere. A must try!!!

The food was good, our waitress was very nice. She was waiting on a large party as well and could have used a little help because we had to wait for some time before she took our order But overall not too bad.

My husband and I had a day date here for the first time and we loved it! The clam chowder was amazing and the atmosphere is iconic! The valet was a great touch on a cold, windy day!! We will definitely be back!

We had a nice dinner with geat service in the dining room. I had the seafood platter, and my wife had the cod. There was not a lot of food for the seafood platte, but what it did have was good. I especially liked the frog legs and scallops. The salad and clam chowder soup prior to the meal we both excellent. Not your boring side salad.

I havent been to Sinbads since around 2012 and I must say everything was excellent! Thalia was my server, she was polite and attentive. The food was amazing and more reasonable priced than these new restaurants. Im sticking with the tried and true places from here on out. Great dinner.

This spot is a true Detroit classic, known for its prime location and stunning views of the Detroit River. Valet parking is a great option, but there’s also $3 self-parking if you prefer. I’ve been here a few times for dates and family events, and the vibe is always on point—chic with a touch of old-school charm.
The seafood platter was fresh, lightly breaded, and well-seasoned, but the rest of the menu could use some work. The sides, in particular, were a letdown—my green beans were barely cooked, and the baked potato was just okay. I’d love to see a wider variety of platters and more thoughtfully prepared sides. For the price, I also wish the portions were more generous.
On a brighter note, the drinks were a highlight! I had a Lemon Drop and a Bourbon Sour, and both were delicious and fairly priced. As for the service, the staff seemed a bit stressed, but to be fair, it was a busy night. Overall, while there’s room for improvement, it’s still a classic spot worth visiting.

Great place to eat after a day of fishing, we took in our own fish for the catch & cook that they offer and tried all 3 ways that they offer. The blackened was good but a little more seasoned than we prefer and the fried was good but a little less seasoned than we prefer but the sauted was absolutely perfect. We will be back many times I’m sure. If you want a must have there it is their clam chowder, the clam chowder is the best I’ve ever had anywhere.

I ordered (carry out) the grilled chicken breast, broccoli and loaded baked potato. The broccoli and potato tasted “ok” other than they put artificial slice cheese on my potato which was like melted wax when I got home. The chicken was so so so salty it wasn’t edible at all !
