Really nice place for a large group (upper room for private parties). Food was fantastic (great chicken sandwich), drinks are excellent, and the overall vibe of Mt Horeb is just cool. One of my two favorite spots in town.

I want to be clear in saying the food was great, and the majority of servers and staff were wonderful. The guy who took the order of my girlfriend and I (who I’m pretty sure is the owner) could not have been more condescending and rude to my girlfriend. She ordered an old fashioned and he made her feel like an absolute idiot for not knowing what specific bourbon she wanted. When she asked what kinds they have he told her in an incredibly condescending manner “We have over two hundred.. I can’t go through all of em.” Very unwelcoming and made her feel really dumb… it was out first time going there and she’s lived most of her life in another country so was already uncomfortable. Really ruined the vibe.

Stopped on a Friday night, shared the pretzels and beer cheese, girlfriend loved it. I had the Cajun fish and shrimp it was incredible. Very busy but quickly served and helped.

We had the Racheal and the Club sandwiches. Both were unique and delicious. Crinkle and sweet potato fries were super fresh and delicious. Our server Tom was such a great guy. The restaurant was clean and well lit. A great place to watch a game on TV.

Went in for lunch , it was busy . The waitress came to our table and took our drink order 3 sodas and a beer .10-15 minutes later still no drinks or menus. Figuered it was gonna take awhile if we hadn’t gotten menus yet. Although a couple groups that walked in after us had menus and drinks already.Decided to head on down to Culver’s ! Generally we don’t get up and leave and we usually tip very well. Oh well.

Stopped in on a local recommendation. Could not have been more spot on. The Badger burger was cooked to perfection and the seasoned fries were crispy and hot. My wife’s club sandwich was stacked high and the sourdough bread pulled out together. Atmosphere and great servers make this a must stop in the future.

Cider was great. Service was good. Reuben sandwich tasted more like a sloppy cheese sandwich than a Reuben. Sweet potato fries were burnt. Asked for another and there were overly well done, these are French cut to thin and are like saying shoestring potatoes.

We have come to MtHoreb for wrestling for the past few years, walk-on is a frequent stop. The service is good, food is good and the atmosphere is comfortable. If your in the mood for good bar food & a beer it’s a great stop. It will keep me coming back.
