What’s shame!! The foods are very delicious, fresh ingredients but let down by the service- very rude waitresses, unattended staff. Our table bill was 4000 baht ( just under £100) and they asked us to pay cash. When we said we expected to pay by QR code scan that is very popular and common way to pay debiting directly from bank accounts. We were informed that there is no service for it but we can make a bank transfer which is fine by us but the issue was that as soon as we said we preferred to pay by bank transfer, the face impression of the waitress had changed into “showing the attitude of unhappy face” We ended up paying by cash

We now understand why their Google ratings is so low

lovely restaurant, fantastic food, beautiful decoration, wide choice of local Thai dishes in menu. all the dishes we ordered was delicios a d we literally clean up the food. the young coconut juice wasvery nice too, very sweet and frangrance. the bowl of steam white rice was cooked to perfection, right fluffy texture and so fragrance. we enjoyed our dinner and it wasn’t too expensive as well.

The Michelin recommendation hasn’t been renewed for 2025 and I can see why. The food in the end is just average for Thailand. The restaurant is a massive operation and the food still came out in minutes. The fried fish must have been precooked as that’s how it tasted, dry and not fully hot. All the other food was good but nothing special. There’s better food in Khao Yai.

I visited this place after hearing that it’s featured in the Michelin Guide, and naturally, my expectations were quite high due to the many positive reviews. While the food wasn’t bad at all, I wouldn’t say it was particularly special either.

The taste is decent, but I feel like you could find similar dishes elsewhere. The highlight for me was the fried spicy crispy catfish. It was flavorful, had a great crunch, and paired perfectly with rice. That dish alone stood out.

The restaurant has a charming, old-school decoration which adds a nostalgic touch, though it may not appeal to everyone. The menu is extensive, almost too much so, to the point where I had trouble deciding what to order.

Should not be serving customers who sit in with throwaway and plastic containers. Wasteful.
Food OK, but just OK. We ate Larb moo taut – not spicy enough and they used lime powder rather than fresh lime. Somtam, we asked for not sweet, it was sweet.

One of the best Thai food around Khao Yai area. Very authentic. All food is just nice, not overwhelmingly sweet as most restaurants.
We ordered Tom Khlong Pla Salid (just another type of Tom Yum), local mackerel salad, century egg with minced pork and crispy basil leaves. All are great. Fresh fruit was also available.

Services were good.

This place requests customers to pay by cash, although QR code payment is accepted.

The restaurant has been well known for its traditional thai receipes and an unique setting of incorporating an antique boat to its main structure.

Visited them for dinner after reading many good reviews and ordered the following dishes:-

-Green Curry With Pork. Its fragrant, creamy, mildly sweet and had a satisfying kick of heat. Pork pieces were tender and soft to bite.

-Clear Tom Yum Seafood Soup had a good blend of sour, spicy and savory notes for its rich broth, and generous ingredients of chewy squids, fish balls, mushrooms and etc.

-Deep Fried Pork With Kaffir Lime Leaves had crispy exterior, tender succulent interior and well seasoned. Garnish of Kaffir Lime Leaves and chopped onions paired well with the pork. However they could have served Thai Sweet Chilli sauce (Nam Chin Kai) with this dish, instead of ordinary Chilli sauce for dipping.

-Stir Sunflower Seedlings with Tofu, consisted of Sunflower sprouts too, was well cooked and retained its mild nutty, earthy flavour as well as its crisp and crunchy texture. The oyster sauce was not over savory and fried tofu paired well.

-Fried Tofu With Fried Garlic and Fried Rice were good in terms of overall texture, but do not have any distinctive flavours though.

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. Food were good but not really impressive, as most of the dishes that we had ordered were average to me. Service staffs were friendly, patient and efficient but not attentive. Ambience of the restaurant were of typical open-concept traditional thai restaurant with wooden fixtures and furnishings.

I love the chilli prawns and steamed fish. Curry duck was also very good. This is a large place that can accommodate many people. Mango sticky rice dessert was also delightful.

Heard the place highly reputed, we dropped in for lunch. It’s almost 02.30 pm, the wait was just a few minutes. We ordered 5 dishes and waited over 15 minutes to be served, though not too busy. Thai Curry with River Snail and Betel Leaf really lived up to its name, but the rest were simply so so. Overall, it’s a good place to try, but you might consider going elsewhere if the queue is taking too long. You won’t miss much.

Very flavorful food in Kao Yai. The must order dish is the Prik King catfish.
