We had reservations for hibachi on. Saturday evening and were seated promptly. I don’t remember our server’s name, but she was the most pleasant young lady and always smiling. She was very attentive. We started with miso soup and salad, they were both okay, though the miso soup tasted more like chicken broth. I ordered the filet, which was cooked perfectly. The hibachi show was fun and entertaining, and my cocktail was delicious. I also ordered the fried wonton dessert, which was amazing! The room is extremely smoky, which didn’t bother me, but might be an issue for anyone with compromised breathing. Overall, it was a fun night and the food was fantastic.

Good: Solid amaretto sour and they do have THC drinks! I got the godzilla roll (fried roll) and it was the best I’ve ever had. My partner agreed it was phenomenal.
Bad: The service was subpar. There were no napkins and the waitress had to get some cocktail napkins from the bar. The gyoza we ordered tasted frozen, the ginger salad was soupy, and the salmon roll had far too thick of a layer of rice.
The beautiful: The entire restaurant is gorgeous. We sat in the front, the couches were very comfortable and we loved the lighting.

Ordered steak hibachi, Godzilla roll and spider roll. My husband and I decided to share a a lunch plate and 2 sushi rolls because it was our anniversary and we had a ton of activities to do. We usually go to Satos so we were thinking we would have a ton of left overs.
Safe to say I left hungry. I wasn’t going to write a review but — I remembered that the waitress asked us if we were celebrating something and we told her our wedding anniversary.
I would think her asking meant she was going to try to make our visit extra special. She didn’t do anything special (not that we were looking for it but why ask?)
I felt so bad leaving a $5 tip but she made our interaction so awkward. She didn’t know the menu (couldn’t tell us which roll is which) – neither could the young lady who bought the food to the table.
After sleeping on it.. I can’t believe they bought this to your table. My husband and I figured out this was the Spider roll because of that big brown thing in the Sushi (that’s supposed be the soft shell crab) .
Of course I didn’t pay for it.. not as a favor but because what!???!?

Our server Cody was excellent, he even played The Who knows the birthday girl quiz with us, for my nieces 17th birthday celebration. He took our orders and brought out our drinks in a timely manner. Spanky was great too!! He kept us laughing as he prepared the food and the food was great! This was my first time here and I will be back. I had the steak and scallops.

This was my first time here and it was an overall good experience. It was a little hard to find the entrance at first but someone helped us out and guided us through to the front door. We had reservations so we were seated immediately in the “Fireroom” which when we walked in was very smoky! This area could use exhaust fans to help with ventilation but nothing you cant handle. We immediately saw “Spanky” and we asked him to cook at our table. The sald was decent as well as the soup and there is only ginger dressing for the salad as well. Once he started cooking I asked if they could do the Japanese BBQ on my proteins like Miyabi’s does and I was hit with a disappointing No, but all all the food was still good but would have been better with the BBQ sauce. We had drinks as well that were amazing, they took a little while to get to our table but when they did they hit! We had wonderful date night but we left out smelling like smoke but we would give it another try because besides all the bad the food was prepared very well and it tasted just as good! Please Hanabi get the Japanese BBQ sauce for the Hibachi as well as some better exhaust for the smoke because its a lovely hidden gem downtown!

I brought my family here tonight, and my 8 year old daughter who has never had the exsperience of having someone cook live in front of her. What a great exsperience! Even when my daughter ran from the table, our cook handled it perfectly. The food was great, the atmosphere was fun. It was all around a great time, we will be back for sure! Thank you for the exsperience!

We celebrated my aunts birthday at Hanabi and I must say, the atmosphere, the food, the vibes and my overall experience was amazing. Our server Caroline was a sweetheart and made sure our large party was well taken care of. Everyone in the staff from the greeters, servers and chefs were friendly. Definitely check this place out if you’re ever downtown Columbia!!

I came here to visit from Nashville and stayed at the hotel Hilton Garden Inn. And Hanabi hibachi is right around the corner. I would have had to wait two hours to get a table for a hibachi cook. I chose rather to go to the bar and get food to go. I ordered two order shrimp and lobster. It was a long wait and I only got one order of my shrimp. The service was not good and the food was just OK. They told me they were understaffed and that’s why I had to wait two hours to get a table. I would not go back and would not recommend their service. I only got six shrimp. Where is the rest of it? I won’t be back.
