My intent was to pick up a sandwich, use my gift card, and head out. However, the relaxed environment lead me to order a pasta dish and enjoy it at the restaurant.
My first impression of the dish was, “they should call it pesto with chicken”, as the chicken portions appeared small and only layered on the top; I was wrong.
The chicken could be found throughout the dish, flavorful, with a touch of smokiness. I enjoyed the pesto from first bite to the last pesto.
Finally, the staff was a pleasure: friendly, knowledgeable of the menu items, and willing to provide suggestions.
Overall, great place to grab a bite in Downtown Menomonee Falls.

I had high hopes for The Lunch Box Deli, but I don’t think they quite hit all the important components. When I walked in, the cashier was mostly on her phone, though she did put it down when I was ready to order. Still, that’s not the first impression you want when walking into a place.
It was a little slow, but I probably just missed the lunch rush. I was surprised to see a lot of empty display cases, which made the space feel underused.
The sandwiches (corned beef and pastrami) came out fairly quickly, and the server was friendly. Once I got them home, my wife and I split them to try both.
The corned beef sandwich was okay—decent size, but missing that zing you usually expect. The pastrami sandwich was definitely the better of the two, though a bit on the soggy side. The pickles were a nice touch, but they were a little sad and floppy.
The sandwich portions were generous, and that helps justify the higher price point. That said, it feels like the shop might be juggling a few challenges—an extensive menu, unused space due to limited foot traffic, and rising ingredient costs all add up to a lot of overhead.
It’s an ambitious concept, and I think they’ll get there with time. Extending their hours to 6 p.m. could help catch people grabbing dinner on their way home from work.
Overall, solid but not mind-blowing. I’ll give them another shot in a few weeks and see if they reach their unmet potential.

The Lunch Box Deli has the BEST corned beef sandwich ever! It was piled high with tender, flavorful corned beef and served on the best marble rye bread that held everything together perfectly. Every bite was juicy, hot, and seasoned just right you can tell they don’t cut corners here. Also the cheesecake hit the spot!
And I have to shout out the cashier, Dameiana (hope I spelled it right)! She was so friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. Great customer service makes a huge difference, and she absolutely delivered.
Delicious food, clean environment, and amazing service. If you haven’t tried their corned beef yet, you’re missing out. I’ll definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful time at Lunch Box Deli with our family and friends! The atmosphere was so welcoming, and we truly enjoyed every moment. The girls especially loved their ice cream topped with gummy worms —such a fun touch!
The food was fantastic—my absolute favorites were the corned beef and Caesar, while my girlfriend couldn’t stop raving about the Beef Temptation . My oldest devoured the grilled cheese, which was a hit too!
A special shout-out to your cashier—so patient, warm, and welcoming. That kind of service makes all the difference.

Wow, so just received cold food from this place and I’m still confused over how a simply order of a pound of ham & rolls could go so wrong. Long story short, I was given a pound of the coldest ham that I’ve ever felt. Like it feels like an ice brick. My family and I have been ordering HOT (hence the word HOT) ham & rolls for years now. Like a lot of Wisconsinite’s, it’s pretty much a weekly/monthly tradition. Not any place that I’m aware of, do they ever hand it to a customer while still cold. Places previous, even had the 6 rolls nice & warm. Like I am appalled. And then I call the restaurant & of course the girl that picks up the phone is totally clueless as a door knob. Wow. Just freaking wowzers. Never again, and I deserve a refund. Good going, Menomonee Falls.

It was great. We got the pastrami, reuben, GF chx Ceasars wrap, GF mac tortellini and everything was DELICIOUS. A bit more than joshmosandwhich shop which is GREAT when the food is quality like this. I will come back, bring friends, and the out of towners. Really really good, high quality ingredients, and real cheeses.

The food tasted deliciously homemade and not dowsed with salt. The soups were thick and flavorful. There was a more than generous portion of meat on the corned beef sandwich. Every bite was full of flavor from the meat to the bread. We’ve already recommended it to friends and will be back!

This place is so delicious! We had the homemade broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl and my kids had Mac and cheese and grilled cheese. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is pristine, and the food is great. I would highly recommend to anyone!
