My husband and I visited Harlem Nights Scratch Kitchen & Cocktails once and were so blown away that we returned to have a small Thanksgiving dinner prepared for us—and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made while traveling. We are from out of town, and we were thoroughly impressed not only by the incredible food, but by the genuine hospitality that came with it.
Ms. Carla was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, honest, and kept her word on every single detail. We ordered the dressing, yams, giblet gravy, mac & cheese, cranberry sauce, peach cobbler, cabbage, and greens—and every dish was phenomenal. Her cabbage is truly unlike any other, and her greens taste heavenly. Each bite brought back childhood flavors and memories we didn’t even realize we missed.
I also included pics from our first meal.
I highly recommend Harlem Nights for any catered event in the area. Ms. Carla’s kindness is unmatched, and her food touched our souls. Thank you again for making our Thanksgiving one to remember while we’re on the road. We will never forget it. -Christian & Joel

My husband and I were passing through Paris, Texas and got hungry. We googled food near by and this gem popped up. We cannot rave about this place enough! The staff, the atmosphere and more so the food! You can feel the southern love in every bite. We will be back soon.

A friend recommended Harlem Nights to me and said it was excellent food. So my wife and I decided to give it a shot and let me tell you, he wasn’t lying. The minute we walked through the doors The ladies in the restaurant greeted us, asked us how we were doing, and where as nice as can be. I informed them we have never been there before we were new. They Show us the menu and told us the recommendations on what food they Thought was the best. I ended up going with chicken fried chicken with sweet potatoes and macaroni and cheese and my wife ended up going with chicken fried steak with fried green tomatoes and Macaroni and cheese. When the food came out, it was so hot. We couldn’t even eat it for the first 10 minutes. It was completely fresh and everything was homemade didn’t last very long. I’m pretty much finished it almost immediately except for my macaroni which my wife stole. She is a very big macaroni lover, and she loved their homemade macaroni. I let the ladies know that this was the best meal I’ve had in Paris, Texas and probably my new favorite restaurant and I would definitely be back. I would recommend it for anybody. The only downfall of the restaurant is the location is not in the best part of town but do not let that persuade you. It is an excellent restaurant. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean and they took great care of us. We will definitely be back.

Soul food is about taking simple ingredients and making them taste so good you think of home. This place meets that expectation and exceeds them. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted like we were family. The service was absolutely wonderful and the food! I could write novels at how amazing the food was! Fresh, seasoned, and filling! Portions were so generous that I doubted I could eat it all. But it was too good to leave behind! The porkchop was perfectly seasoned, the Mac and cheese was thick and flavorful, the yams were perfect and the peach cobbler? Reminded me of my grandma’s recipe! If you want good food, large portions, and the sensation that you’re at home with family, this is the place to go. Whenever I’m in Paris, this will be one of the required places to go.

Carla catered our son’s wedding rehearsal. The event was on Thanksgiving. She and her team happily worked the holiday for us. The food was excellent… everyone commented on how good the food was. And her team was super nice. If we ever need catering in Paris, she will be our only call. Thanks Carla!!!

This place is an absolute GEM 10/10 recommend! When you walk you’re greeted by smiles and our waitress Mahogany was so friendly and attentive. Now on to the food, oh my Gah! Words aren’t enough to describe the flavors that hit your tastes buds. The chicken fried chicken was moist and crispy with just enough seasoning that it wasn’t overbearing, the greens were absolutely perfect and the sweet potatoes melted in my mouth. Cornbread was sweet but not too sweet and paired perfectly with the greens, because you know you gotta slop up the juice! I believe I’ve found my new favorite place in Paris. Shout out to the CHEFS, hands down the best meal I’ve had in this town. Keep it up! I will be returning and telling all my friends.

I ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was amazing…it was so crispy but it was still tender and juicy. The waffle had great flavor and never got soggy. I had two sides that came with the dish. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and delicious and the fries are seasoned and very tasty.

When we placed our order, my husband asked if the chicken wings were good and the man said “Best in NE Texas” and I believe he was right! Maybe even SE Oklahoma. Be sure to order the greens!
