Well now, there were four of us eating at The Greenhouse Restaurant and Bar in St. Thomas, and I must say it was nicer than a freshly scrubbed deck on the Jolly Roger—oh yes, indeed!
We began with a fine plate of conch fritters for the table, golden and crunchy and disappearing almost as quick as Captain Hook’s temper on a good day. My chicken Caesar salad was crisp as can be, the dressing creamy and pleasant, not too sharp, not too mild—just right for honest appetites like ours.
Across from me, the others tucked into fish tacos made with fresh mahi-mahi, bright with flavor and as tidy as Smee’s best knots. The quesadillas came grilled a lovely brown, oozing melted cheese and hearty enough to satisfy all four of us without a single grumble— and grumbles are something I know a bit about, living with pirates and all.
Then arrived the mahi-mahi fish sandwich and another mahi option in our little feast—a tender, delicious creation tucked into a soft bun with all the trimmings. It was the favorite of our party of four, as tasty as any treasure Smee’s ever dreamed of polishing.
The service, oh it was kind and quick! The servers treated all four of us like proper guests, smiling and refilling drinks before we even had to wave or fuss. The bar had such a friendly buzz to it, full of lively folks and good cheer—nothing crowded or dirty like some ports I’ve seen while following Hook about.
Five stars I give The Greenhouse, and I’d give more if I had them in me pocket. If you’re in St. Thomas and looking for a meal fit for four happy Lost Boys—or even a band of reformed pirates—this is the place Smee would recommend with his whole simple heart.

portions were so huge!! and yes, the bang bang shrimp is rlly so good I’m glad everyone recommended it.

We ate at the Green House four times during our 10-night stay in St. Thomas. The lobster was divine and the service was top notch. Such nice indoor/open air seating with a beautiful view of the bay. I’d highly recommend it!

Stopped by The Greenhouse Restaurant while waiting on a late flight from the Cyril King International Airport. The menu had lots of choices but I preferred light bites. I had mozzarella sticks which for me is a staple. They were very good. You could taste the herbs which I appreciated. There were two of us so I got the regular sliders and my partner in crime had the bang bang sliders. They were aight.
If you’re looking for a place on Waterfront to hang out this is not a bad spot. Next time I’ll try something else.

The food and the service simply amazing. The atmosphere good, you are facing the see however the street in front is busy.
We ordered Shrimp Tacos, Pork Ribs and a Chicken salad. The taste of the food just awesome. The chicken was full of juice that was a part of the salad. The ribs had a lovely coating of barbecue sauce and the shrimp Tacos had just the right ingredients.
Definitely worth a visit.

Happy hour is buy one get one! The lobster bisque some shells in it, which means the lobster is fresh. I get that. It needed a little salt and pepper though. My fiance had the fish sandwich and really liked it! His rice came out in a pyramid shape! Donald was a great server.

Very friendly employees! The dining room is wide open and not too loud so you can have a normal conversation. Lots of friendly locals and expats at the bar. Also, the building is wide open on at least two sides, so you get a nice tropical breeze blowing through while enjoying a bucket of beer. The happy hour beer special is an unreasonably good deal. Love it! I got the Conch chowder and the quesadilla. Both were perfectly good. We sat at a table that overlooked the main road and waterfront, so it was great for people watching. Watching the stray cats play in the nearby bushes was a bonus. Great place!

Run to this place for the best spicy Caribbean wings and bang bang sliders. They were bomb!!! The sliders were a good portion and freakin’ delicious Joseph was the best server! Local IPAs and a great view made this stop a hit!

Whenever we go to St. Thomas, the Greenhouse is our go to restaurant in Charlotte Amalie for lunch and dinner. The menu is diverse with really tasty food and drinks to please everyone. The portions are generous. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the view of the harbor is lovely.

What a great place to have a cold beer, and meet great people. Sit at the bar and you will meet people from all over. Don the Bartender is a rock star. The best time to go is HAPPY HOUR, 4:30 to 7:30 it’s BOGO. You can watch the boats in the harbor as you have dinner and drinks.
