Sofia’s Restaurant & Bar is a vibrant Italian eatery nestled at 143 Mulberry Street in the heart of historic Little Italy, NYC. What a nice lovely spot. This place makes you feel at home, just a comfy environment with a beautiful mural of Florence, Italy. The bread and dip was good, and the fettuccine alfredo was phenomenal! Food came out quick and the staff was super sweet and accommodating even with a blizzard going on outside lol. I know you have lots of choices in little Italy but this was a nice place to have dinner! Bone appetite!

I loved the food and atmosphere at this place when I went with my mom, I overall had a great time. I got the spaghetti pomodoro with grilled chicken added and it was divine. The spaghetti noodles were nice and firm, the sauce was so zesty and seasoned, and the chicken tasted expertly grilled. It was so delicious and I highly recommend it. Mom also said that her chicken Milanese was outstanding as well, mainly because the chicken was flattened and that is how she likes it the most.

It is one of the better Italian restaurants in the little Italy area. If you’re going, I recommend reservation, but I’m pretty sure you can just walk in also. Service and atmosphere are decent. I truly loved their Arancini one of the best I’ve had. It was crispy on the outside creamy on the inside, I could easily have 10 of them. I got their special of the day which were pesto gnocchi and it was really good gnocchi had very chewy texture but in the best way and I can just taste it that it’s truly made of potato like it’s professional gnocchi not like frozen gnocchi. For my main, they actually brought the wrong order to me, but they made me the right one in like 15 minutes. It was pretty nice service. And they have complementary bread, which is very nice. Portion size was generous. I wouldn’t say it was massive nor it was small. I have decent appetite and I have quite a hard time finishing it; still finished tho. Overall great experience and I would definitely be back.

They said the Chicken Parmesan came with spaghetti but it was absolutely linguine.
Funnier- in the menu there’s an item called Rigatoni a la Bolognese, then describe the rigatoni as flat and ribbon-like, which is pappardelle- the correct pasta for Bolognese (so why call the dish Rigatoni?). They did not come to our table for fresh grated Parmesan like other tables.
The music was not traditional Italian. It was faster have, almost Latin, like what you’d hear in a Mexican restaurant. For us, personally, it was offputting. But obviously to each their own in that one.

We had a wonderful time at this pizzeria as a group of four. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and everything exceeded our expectations.

Frank was very hospitable and wonderful! We came to have lunch and my husband and I enjoyed the stuffed mushroom appetizer! I had the risotto di mare and it was delicious. My husband had the shrimp scampi and loved the lemon butter sauce! We will come back again and again! A delightful quaint restaurant to bring friends, family, or a perfect date night!

Beware of this wannabe Italian restaurant. I ordered a Diavola pizza, which should be slightly spicy, but I got a pizza that is sweet thanks to the red caramelized onions. However, the restaurant was clever and listed it as a Dia Viola pizza on the receipt. What’s more, the pizza was served on an aluminum plate and baking paper, so I seriously doubt that it was made in a brick oven, as stated on the menu, because baking paper would burn at temperatures above 220°C (428°F), while Italian-style pizza is typically baked in an oven at 370-480°C (700-900 F). The spaghetti carbonara was closer to how this dish should taste, but it still wasn’t quite right. The biggest surprise, however, came when paying. The prices on the menu turned out to be gross, i.e., without tax, which was added extra. The restaurant also automatically added an 18% gratuity, with the arrogant waiter adamantly arguing that it was a tourist spot and that this tax was fixed by law and that this was how it was charged in all restaurants in Little Italy. The last hidden extra charge was a card payment fee, which is approximately 5% of the total gross amount without tax. The total amount of $74 according to the menu prices thus rose to $97.65 due to the extra charges, which corresponds to an increase of 32%. I refused to accept this approach and had the manager called over and paid only the menu prices plus the tax that the restaurant added to them, which was not mentioned in the menu, nor were any other fees. Based on our experience, I strongly advise against visiting this establishment. Not only will you not eat well here, but you will also pay a high price for it and involuntarily give a high tip in hidden fees. I do not recommend it under any circumstances.

Our server was so sweet and patient. They don’t have affogato on the menu but I’ve been craving it and he was able to do it for me! I’m so happy with our meal and service. One of the best penne vodka I’ve had in a long time.

Dinner and drinks were excellent! My only complaint is they forgot to bring bread to the table and we had to ask. We had chicken parm and chicken marsala and an espresso martini. The presentation of the food and drinks were on point! Can’t wait to go back.

We had a great late lunch here! Great spot in Little Italy and atmospherewas really authentic. The food was really delicious, and the happy hour price for the wine ($10) was excellent – great selection.
