Great tacos! Definitely worth the $5/taco as they are full of meat and toppings. The smoked flavor is subtle and just the right amount. The fajita is definitely the best if you like veggies and sweet-tangy flavor.

The ordering is simple – fill out the slip with your choice of meat and toppings (descriptions on the slip). The options are limited in a good way. To the owners, it may help to have a table/sign when you walk in that has the instructions for ordering, as some people in the reviews seem to think it’s too complicated. It was my first time there today and I felt like it was pretty simple and easy to understand.

The service was good, especially from the chef. He was engaging and very good at what he does. The bartender was sweet! At one point, a man SHOUTED across the place telling the bartender that she had forgotten the make their drink. It was so rude on so many levels. It is not hard to walk up to the bar and ask for an update – everyone is human and can make mistakes.

After chatting with the chef, we found out that he and the bartender were working together on shift for the first time and learning each other’s service styles. Anyone who has worked in food service knows how difficult that can be, especially in a small space.

All that to say, grace was given to the team for their hard work and amazing food. And for anyone grouchy about waiting a few minutes for a drink, maybe priorities need to be reevaluated. Taking the time to get to know someone and understand their story goes a long way.

As soon as we walked in, we were asked if we have been there before. We said no, and they explained how everything works with the pad. It’s definitely a different style compared to most places. I enjoyed the vibe. The employees were nice. It wasn’t too busy. And the tacos were truly amazing. We almost drove back for more. The only thing I kept thinking about is appetizers. It would be cool to have even just chips and guac or salsa. But either way those tacos were amazing and well definitely be back!

If I lived in Clayton I would probably find myself here at least once a week. Sadly it’s a 30-minute drive from home in Raleigh, but I will still make the trek when I’m feeling it.
I’ll start with the bad. It was kind of chilly inside… old building on a chilly day and all. That’s it for the bad. Bring a sweater and you’ll be fine.
The menu is very simple… Three meats, 3 styles of tacos, you pick. My only regret was that eating nine tacos was not something that I’m capable of doing in a single sitting.
The tacos were all delicious, there was a large selection of random hot sauces if you’re into that (I am), the cocktails (good tequila and mezcal options) are delightful (again, limited options but very tasty… and they’re happy to adjust them as needed). The staff (of one when I was there) was friendly and helpful. It’s very casual… Somewhat limited indoor seating but perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. I can’t wait to go here in warmer weather with a large group of friends… the outdoor seating looks great.
Oh, there’s a variety of canned and bottled non alcoholic beverages too. Can’t wait to go back!

We love Mexican food and I specifically love classic steak tacos. The restaurant is bar service only so no waiters, you fill out a paper to order your food. They only have self serve water and bottled drinks. The food was really good, I liked the fajita and hombre the best. The star lost is because for $5 a taco you get so little meat. I can get three tacos for $10 at mezcalito with much more substance. It’s a small building which gives it character but I can only imagine how tough it is to order when they’re busy. The employees were nice and the food was good so overall pleased. Wouldn’t rave about it though.

We have been regulars at this spot for a while now because the food is genuinely good. However, I’m writing this because I’m pretty shocked by the recent price hike.
We already felt that $5 per taco was on the steeper side for a casual meal, but finding out today that they’ve jumped to $7 per taco is a dealbreaker for us. At that price point, a simple lunch for two quickly turns into a $50+ outing once you add drinks and a tip.
As much as we love the taste, we just can’t justify $7 for a single taco anymore. It’s disappointing to lose our go-to spot, but the value just isn’t there at this price. Hope the management considers how this impacts their long-term customers.

Tacos (chicken, pork,or steak) are cheap and good. Margaritas and specialty drinks are good too!! Service and atmosphere is really nice. I like this little spot in Clayton, I will be back soon!

Hidden gem in a small town. The smoked chicken tacos were amazing. The meat was some of the best seasoned, smokey and moist chicken I’ve ever had. Cute lil place to stop in. Plus tacos! Who doesn’t love a good taco

Taylor was the absolute best! We came here on a Saturday night and sat right at the bar. We ordered 3 tacos with different meats and styles. Probably the best tacos I’ve had in a while. I love when restaurants keep their menu simple and do ALL THINGS WELL. The blue margarita was yummy and one was just enough. My husband and I will definitely be back— especially with the late night hours!

First of all, Sally M. is an absolute BEAST!!! Me and my cousins came in, she works on Fridays, this chic is AMAZING and the whole vibe!!!! We’ve watched her handle the ENTIRE bar by herself a few times! She remembered us after our first visit. She knew exactly what we wanted to drink. She’s personable! And we got to see the kitchen manager (Micah) in action and these tacos are to die for!!! We’re from FL and this the 1st place that gave us that “at home” vibe. Sally and tacos NEVER disappoint!!! This is becoming a tradition for us when we need that moment to escape responsibility for a day. Sally, tacos & tequila just never miss!!! If you came here and left a bad review, you missed the real deal. There is no way this place or their bartenders missed. If it’s not your vibe…. Then just say that… keep it real… because for some of us… it’s UNMATCHED!!!

All I’m going to say is SALLY M.
She is absolutely amazing. The way she handles the bar during a rush lunch hour is mind blowing! Grill to bar to customer service all at the same time insane. We come in and our drinks are already made! She is our Friday tradition!!! Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE her and will not stay for any other bar tender !!
