Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of all the dishes. The service was also impeccable too. We ordered the sourdough, gem salad, halloumi, steak, cod, and the ravioli. Our favorite dishes were the halloumi,
Steak and ravioli. The sweet and salty of the halloumi was very pleasant. The hanger steak had an amazing sear and was tender. The sweet potato ravioli was delicate and the hazelnuts added such a nice texture. The cocktails were also incredible as well! They even gave us limoncello shots on the house as we were a bit rushed due to another table being seated. Great place to eat but won’t be able to just lounge and enjoy a slow dinner as this place gets quite busy.

Bistro La Franquette has a really nice atmosphere — cozy, lively, and a great spot for a night out. The food was excellent. I had the hanger steak with fries and red wine reduction sauce, and it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and the fries were some of the best I’ve ever had.
The oyster special is also a must — fresh and a great add-on to the meal.
A couple of small notes: the music could have been a bit louder to really match the energy of the room, and the drink experience wasn’t quite at the same level as the food. Our waiter could have taken a bit more time to explain the drink options, and the margarita we ordered wasn’t our favourite.
That said, the food and overall vibe more than make up for it, and I would absolutely go back.

Stopped by this bistro while in Westmount and was so pleasantly surprised with the delicious food, drinks and amazing service. We had the best burger I’ve ever had in Montreal!!! Tried the cocktail du jour and it was balanced and tasty, and continued with some wine from their impressive wine list. What a hidden gem.
Also.. the decor is beautiful (even the bathrooms!) and it’s a perfect space to spend an evening.
Shoutout to Chef Louie and Renée for their hospitality! Can’t wait to go back

Went out as a group of four for a buddy’s birthday and we all ended up ordering the same two things the Franquette burger and the hanger steak with fries. Both were excellent. The steak had great flavour and the burgers were spot on. Only note I really wish they would switch the fries over to beef tallow or duck fat instead of that standard canola seed oil. Would take them from good to outstanding.
The French onion soup was tasty but could use a bit more soup and a bit less bread which is an easy fix.
We found a really nice Nebbiolo on the list for 95 dollars and ended up drinking the last two bottles they had. Solid value.
The vibe of the place is great warm lively not pretentious. And our waitress was a character in the best way possible. Anyone who wears shorts when it is 25 degrees outside automatically gets respect. Cool attitude and genuinely good service.
Overall really good spot. I would definitely go back.

Franquette quickly became my favourite restaurant when they opened 5 years ago and they still never disappoint. I’ve never had a bad meal there and everyone I have ever recommended it to has absolutely loved it. My accountant even emailed me mid-meal to thank me for the recommendation because he and his wife were enjoying themselves so much!
The staff are all exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The kitchen staff and especially their pastry chef are extremely talented and it’s usually hard to pick whether the main meal or the dessert was better (pro tip: never skip dessert here!).
Do yourselves a favour and make a reservation for lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed!!

Love this place so much! My husband and I frequent here many Wednesdays when they do $1 oysters and $12 martinis. The food is absolutely delicious, with a changing menu full of fresh ingredients. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly (with special shout outs to Kenny and Jennifer, but truly everyone has always been so kind). Their drinks are also amazing, and they often have a specialty pickle-flavored cocktail on the menu – which changes seasonally. My husband and I both have loved every pickle-flavored concoction they’ve come up with. Even if there isn’t a pickle one on the current menu, Jennifer generally will make something delicious up for us. 🙂
