My friend and I hit Wasatch Wok right at opening time (11:00 a.m.), so the place was quiet, perfect for two lunch adventurers seeking fortune… and fried rice.
I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken lunch special, which came with fried rice, an egg roll, and soup. I went with the egg drop soup, and unlike some places, it wasn’t crammed with peas, corn, or “mystery vegetables.” Simple, clean, and just fine.
The service? Fast, friendly, and attentive. Our waiter checked on us more often than my mom does when I forget to call. I didn’t really need anything, but it was nice to know he was ready to rescue me if General Tso mutinied.
Now, General Tso’s Chicken usually packs some heat, but mine was about as spicy as a Hallmark movie marathon. The chicken was a bit chewier than I’m used to, but paired with the rice and egg roll, it all balanced out into a pretty pleasant lunch.
The menu is extensive, Thai and Chinese options galore, so clearly I’ll need to come back and keep rolling the dice. Speaking of dice, my fortune cookie at the end said: “Now is the time to try something new.” Pretty fitting for my first time here. Either that’s fate… or the cookies are in on the marketing strategy.
Bottom line: Wasatch Wok is friendly, tasty, and full of options.

This evening for dinner we decided to try a new Chinese joint, sadly it wasn’t that good. My kung poa chicken was more vegetables (celery and zucchini) than it was chicken. The mandarin chicken was decent and the sauce was good. The best things were the appetizers, crab cheese wontons and char shu, delicious! The service was great too!

Gave this place another shot but even more disappointed. The food flavor is fine. The order was more than paying at a sit down restaurant. I ordered over the phone as we have at other places and was surprised at the total was significantly more than what we normally pay at similar restaurants. No problem, I should have looked at price prior to ordering. However no receipt is given so you have to question the items and tax. I was being overcharged but that was only noticed because I brought it up. Once we opened the food, we where surprised at how small the portions are, specifically the noodles. The house fried rice is a mix of meats and veggies, didn’t see any shrimp. Can’t find the menu to confirm if shrimp was included, but usually house fried rice at any other place does have it. I didn’t feel like calling to deal with any of it anymore. Just won’t be returning.

Had a good date night at Wasatch Wok tonight. The food was pretty good. I especially liked the Thai Panang Chicken. We also ordered tangerine chicken that was pretty good as well. Serving sizes were large, and we had some to take home after. I was surprised that it was only us and one other couple in the restaurant. I would recommend and go again.

Food was delicious. The only thing that could have made it better was my soup was like warm. I like it really hot. The restaurant has a nice environment, just cold. Would be more enjoyable if it was warmer. Other than that we really enjoy it here.

Had the best beef soup I’ve had in a long time. Owner said they make it for the first week of the month. Can’t recommend enough!

Wanted to try something new. Unfortunately the rice was burnt. The egg roll had way too much pepper in it. And the pad Thai had little flavor other than a mouthful of lime. The orange chicken was good. It was disappointing especially for spending $33 dollars on 2 entrees. Won’t be back.

There aren’t any good Chinese restaurants in northern Utah but Wastach Wok is not bad.
Ordered Pad Thai and Yellow curry.
Pad Thai was pretty good but a tad too sweet. I would order again.
Yellow curry was ok and was very sweet. I won’t order again.

This place is always empty. Every time I pass by ? one day I decided to stop in and try this Thai restaurant,I decided to order general Tso chicken, fried rice and calamari. The calamari was a waste of money. It was hard. The General Tso was hard and the rice was tasteless. There was one other lady waiting in there. I guess she was getting a Thai tea? I was curious if she had tried anything else like the food? She whispered to me the food is horrible. Go somewhere else ! I had already paid, ??!! but yeah, she was right !
