Finally tried Ethyl’s and loved the cozy midwestern feel with the automotive theme. We enjoyed the salad with grilled chicken, artichoke Asiago dip, smoked catfish, combo bbq meat platter, and warm apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Hearty portions so you’ll definitely have leftovers! My only critique is that the salad should’ve had spring mixed greens instead of iceberg lettuce but not a huge deal given everything else was wonderful.

This was a fantastic opportunity for an excellent dinner and entertainment for our large group.
We were in from out of town and picked this on a Google search.
Some old time memorabilia was fun, pool tables, video games, san volleyball, a separate bar area, plenty of tables, so much to see and do. Our group played pool and use the sand volleyball courts. Just way cool.
Everyone loved what they ordered. Large servings and priced right.
I ordered the prime rib sandwich with onion rings. We ordered a basket of chips to share and they had to be the best I have ever had in my 60 plus years of life. Not kidding.
We were there with our group of teenage softball players. I could say that we could have easily missed this as we found it. So glad we found it it was excellent. If I’m ever in the area again I will be back here for sure. If you haven’t been you should give it a try today!

Meet some friends for lunch. Unfortunately, I had to leave before eating but the menu looked awesome. Also good I saw delivered to other tables looked great. Cool atmosphere with several TV’s, full bar, plenty of seating, and friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back when I can stay and eat.

Stopped in on our way from Ky to Fort Scott KS. Food was great, nice variety menu even for the kids. Th bbq, smoked catfish, and potato salad were our favorites. They were a full house but service was still prompt on a busy Friday night. Decor super neat, clean place. Nicely priced. Would definitely stop again.

If you are in the area this is a must stop. The vibe here is perfect with a great mix of decor, friendly staff, great regulars and a relaxing fun feeling. The BBQ is solid for the county but don’t drive for it, Pappy’s is better for close to the same price. The rest of the menu is fun and great for the genre. The mushroom Swiss burger could be redesigned as it is just a Swiss burger with dry mushrooms and not a buttery mush/Swiss combo. The fish looks great and will be the next item we get. The Carrot cake is more carrot bread pudding with the heavy dense flour quality but is still fun.
All in all a great get together, local regular stop with high quality service and food that is relaxing and well priced. You may have never heard of it but you will not forget it and will be amazed it took this long to run across.

Great food and service. We had Sophie as a server and she was amazing. She was personable, nice and welcoming. The food was excellent! We played a game of pool also while we waited for food. Such great decor and loved all the artifacts. I highly recommend this place. My family and I loved it!

Ethyl’s gives small town, retro, country bar with good BBQ and bar food. The space looks great for the summer – has an outdoor volleyball court and playground! – and is also cozy for the winter.
The food was good! My mom ordered a salad, grandma had the pulled pork plate, my dad got the nachos and I ordered a cheeseburger. My dad is a repeat customer and really likes their nachos. As it was my first time, I can say that on a burger scale this was a solid one. Dipping it in BBQ sauce was perfect. Grandma had so much food she took some home and my mom finished her salad and liked it.

Our Family planned a Christmas Gathering on 12-28-25 and we had ended up with a group of around 18 people/ relatives.
Our waitress /Bartender Kellcy was Fantastic! The service was Great as well as the food and atmosphere!
