I’m not going to claim to be a barbecue aficionado. I am going to know I have tastebuds and a sense of what constitutes a good value for my dining dollar. The young lady who took my order was nice and this isn’t that kind of review. It is a review that says this might be the worst barbecue I’ve ever eaten, especially for it being almost $30 for the food I ordered. The sausage was good. The rest of the food wasn’t. It was lacking in seasoning and I knew better to go to a restaurant less than an hour and a half before closing (I’m being sarcastic because food quality shook always be top of mind). It just wasn’t good and it’ll probably be a one and done experience for me.

Had a great lunch here on out way out of town. They had a great patio and were super friendly to our pup (even bringing him a bowl of water)! We did the family platter because we wanted to try everything. It did not disappoint! We will definitely be back when we’re in town. Or better yet, open a location in Columbia 🙂

Loved the food! Rice and Grits were amazing… eat till I burst. Also loved that they’re helping ex-vegans rehabilitate. They also had prepped menus for gluten and dairy free options.

I had an amazing experience at Swig & Swine in Summerville! I ordered The Big Nasty and The Pit, and both absolutely blew me away. The flavors were deep, smoky, and rich—true Southern BBQ done right. The meat was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy, and the sauces added just the right kick. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it’s clear they put a lot of love into their food.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a valued guest. They were attentive without being overbearing and made sure I had everything I needed.

The atmosphere is just what you want in a BBQ joint—laid-back, cozy, and great for relaxing or catching up with friends. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a delicious meal without feeling rushed. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a spot worth stopping for.

Definitely a 5-star experience. I’ll be back for sure!

Swig&Swine is a MUST GO-TO for BBQ in Summerville. Their ribs are my absolute favorite and do not need any extra sauce whatsoever. (I hear this is a big compliment, when one does not need any extra sauce to add additional flavor to the meat.) Also, I also thoroughly enjoy their Vinegar Coleslaw and Mac & Cheese. The Mac & Cheese has a delightful texture – a slight crunch – which surprised me in a very good way. Ask the Chef what he adds – you will also be pleasantly surprised. Oh – I start off each meal with a Mocktail – Swiggy Punch – YUM!!! And finish every meal with their luscious Banana Pudding. ENJOY!!!

Standard issue bbq… the potato salad was very good. The brisket was cooked properly, i wasn’t a big fan of their sauces (I tried them all)…. their pickles were good…. I would give a grade of -B.

When I called to place an order the gal knew what I could order that was gluten free (celiac) and even separated the wings that were deep fried in a shared fryer.
Made me feel very comfortable to eat here. And the food was delicious and filling

Swig & Swine, what a fantastic bbq cozy restaurant! This is definitely your must try BBQ restaurant if you’re visiting Charleston or nearby cities, islands in South Carolina!!! It’s a five with all due respect in every possible area, especially and most importantly, in the fooooooood!!! Wow, my daughter and I were left so impressed and satisfied because the food was five star top notch quality!! We will return and urge you to visit this location in Sunmerville. This barbecue joint is unique because they offer multiple barbecue flavors for all palates! My favorite were the jalapeño and the Alabama White sauce!! You can’t get that many sauces in other barbecue restaurants. You may get two or three, but they have five sauces to experience with your smoked meats. The manager, Christian, is just terrific. He took the time to visit and share more details about the different cuts of meat we were trying and to check in on us. Our server, Jesse, was fantastic, allowing us to try a tiny serving of the sides in order to be assured we picked the best options to order for us. I’m so grateful for him because although I loved a lot of things, I know I didn’t a few others, and I’ll explain why. Their brisket is nicely seasoned, tender, and juicy, so loved it! Their wings are crispy and also have a nice rub on them that makes them taste so yummy. I always like my wings crispy, and that’s what I got here, meat off of the bone good!! The drumstick and the flat wing were a very good size, too. I haven’t seen wings that big in a while, so more meat for the buck and the taste is tops! They turkey meat is also tender and rich in flavor. They’re barbecue ribs were rich in flavor and very meaty, too, so if you’re into ribs, these are it! I highly recommend them!! Their sides are exquisite, and they were my favorite part of the night. They had me at their corn pudding, so very delicious and sweet!!! And then I tried their potato salad, and it was one of the very best I’ve had, kudos to the chef!! Their coleslaw was crunchy, tasty, and perfectly refreshing & tasting!! They have this hash over rice that is phenomenal!!!!!! This was my favorite side. And, their Brunswick Stew was great except I didn’t like the sweet taste it had. I don’t like my soups with sugar or my beans. This is why I would not recommend their beans because they’re sweet, but this is a matter of preference only. Their fermented pickles onions were also sweet and not to my liking, but only because I have a salty preference when it comes to fermented veggies, and I happen to love my salty fermented vinegar onions with my barbecue, so this was a bummer for me, kind of like bad salsa at a Mexican Restaurant! I didn’t try their collards because I was told they were sweet, but I should have probably tried them anyways, just to know. I tried their macaroni as a small side, and it was warm and good and standard tasting, but it wasn’t one of our four choices we ended up choosing from at the end.. I like my collards with bacon and garlic and salt, so I knew these collards would not be my favorite anyhow, but again, it’s a matter of preference only. My regret is not trying grits!!! Grits are a staple in South Carolina, so I bet they were stupendous! And, I love grits any way! For sure, next time!!! So most sides are exquisite, and you can’t go wrong!! Lastly, you have to try their dessert!! We tried their blueberry cobbler, and it was out of this world!!!!!!! You can’t leave without trying it!! They also have peach cobbler, and I bet it’s just as good. I rate them a 5 for the best barbecue in town in my opinion, best service, and relaxing and friendly atmosphere!! Great going chef and team!! I will definitely visit many times in the future and urge everyone to do so. ❤️

Food had great flavor, the pork belly was great, the ribs and wings were over cooked and the brisket was mush. The beans were fantastic and the corn pudding was flavorful but really dry. The server was ok, attentive.

This place has one of the best BBQ ribs I have tried in a long time. Incredibly tender, juicy and delicious. Took my wife to a birthday lunch and she was very pleased. The macaroni and cheese was amazing as well. We ordered the full rack with two sides and believe me, it was more than enough for the two of us, the rack had 12 huge ribs, we ate 8 of them and the rest we took in a food container that they gave us. The brisket is to die for!! We also ordered hush puppies (pork only) and although they tasted good, they had jalapenos and I’m not a fan of spicy food, but someone else might find them delicious as well. The sweet tea was amazing as well. The place has a very southern ambiance with good southern music. The waitress and staff personnel are very kind and friendly, the place was clean and cozy. It was overall a very warm and nice lunch experience and we left wanting to come back in the future. Total paid 11/03/23 USD $65 included tips. Highly recommended!!
