A few days ago, I visited Thai Emerald for an office team dinner.
Right after entering the restaurant, the calm and neat environment instantly lifts your mood. The interior design is very tasteful—a combination of soft lighting, wooden furniture, and a touch of greenery creates an elegant atmosphere that is perfect for spending time with family, friends, or colleagues.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Thai Emerald’s menu is quite diverse. To start, you must try their ‘Tom Yum Soup’, where the balance of sour and spicy flavors is simply amazing. As an appetizer, the ‘Thai Emerald Platter’ is a great option, offering items like fish cakes, spring rolls, and prawn toast all together. For the main course, their ‘Whole Fried Snapper’ and ‘Beef or Chicken Green Curry’ are very popular among foodies. Since the spices used in cooking are directly imported from Thailand, you get an authentic Thai flavor in every bite.
A meal isn’t complete without dessert, right? Their ‘Mango Sticky Rice with Coconut Ice Cream’ will give your dining experience a satisfying finish. Additionally, the staff’s behavior is quite cordial, and the service is fast and professional.
The price might seem a bit on the higher side, but considering the quality, quantity, and ambiance, it is truly a value-for-money experience. For birthday parties, anniversaries, or a special dinner with loved ones, Thai Emerald is undoubtedly one of the best Thai restaurants in Dhaka. So, you should definitely plan a visit sometime!

Thai Emerald Restaurant, located in Gulshan, Dhaka, is a beautiful dining spot specializing in Thai and Asian-inspired cuisine. Situated conveniently on the ground floor with a large parking area, it’s easily accessible and perfect for both small gatherings and large groups. The ambience is elegant, with both indoor and outdoor seating, providing a calm and relaxing dining experience.

The highlight here is Thai cuisine, although the menu also features a hybrid mix of Asian dishes, catering to a variety of tastes. The fish dishes are a must-try, cooked perfectly with authentic Thai flavors. The dumplings are also delicious and one of the better items on the menu. However, the prawns and wontons are just average, and the mango sticky rice, while refreshing, isn’t fully authentic in flavor.

The restaurant also offers a wide range of fresh fruit juices and beverages, adding a refreshing touch to the meal. The service is decent, and the staff are polite and welcoming.

They accept cash and card payments, and VAT bills are provided. Overall, Thai Emerald in Gulshan is a pleasant place to enjoy Thai-inspired food with a comfortable atmosphere and ample parking a great choice for casual dining in Dhaka.

there was nothing thai curry about thai yellow prawn curry it was stir fried prawn with eggs and a oily sauce and green onion as i have tried thai yellow curry before and mixed fried rice was totally scam it was mostly egg fried rice with “2 PIECES PRAWN” and sprinkled chicken:’).But as it’s a honest review the prawn cake and coconut ice cream was reallly good and i actually enjoyed it. but other items totally felt like waste of money don’t know if I’m gonna go there again or not.i might tho for the coconut ice cream and prawn cake.

We ordered chicken satay and fish cake as an appetizer. The food was good but the sauce didn’t complement the food.

As main cuisine we ordered
Pineapple rice
Sea food rice
Chicken fry
Chicken green curry
Beef and calamari.

All the food was fresh and the taste was good.
But I expected a bit better taste.

Service and ambience are top notch but the price is a bit premium.

Finally their coconut ice cream is a must try item.

Overall a good experience.

I recently had lunch at Thai Emerald in Gulshan, and it was a great experience. First off, the free parking made things super convenient, which is always a plus in Dhaka.

The food was the real highlight. Their Thai fried rice was flavorful and perfectly cooked—light but still filling. The whole snapper was outstanding, fresh and cooked just right with bold flavors that stood out. I also really enjoyed the fish cakes—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with that authentic Thai taste. To wrap it up, the mango sticky rice was the perfect ending: sweet, creamy, and refreshing.

The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and the service was friendly without being over the top. If you’re looking for good Thai food in Gulshan, Thai Emerald is definitely worth a visit.

I was in love with thai emerald, specially their coconut ice cream the first time I visited. Gotta say, they are consistent in their quality. Took my family out for a celebration and the food was up to everyone’s liking, even for my mom who’s skeptical and very selective when we eat out. Looking forward to going back soon.

✅1. The food is good. Though according to the price the quantity could be better. Example: in cashew nut salad it was hard to find nuts!
2. About their service I am fully disappointed! I request to provide some napkin and they ignored. The didn’t even provide us the drink menu. I had to ask individuals for that. Most of the time we could not find the waiters. They were busy in other tables mostly.
✅3. The environment and atmosphere is great. Perfect place to have a peaceful dinner with your family. The best thing is they have a specious parking area.

Thai Emerald is a very nice Thai place in Dhaka. The food is very good! The ingredients are fresh and the taste is amazing. The service is pretty good. They do take some time with items that shouldn’t take long to make, but overall they were very nice and quick. The atmosphere was also pretty good. There was a frequent amount of power outages but they can’t really control that. Overall, it is a very nice place to eat at!

Note:

Thai Emerald, I really like your coconut ice cream. However I think it would be better if you replaced the bits with something like mangoes. With the sticky rice it would taste nicer and there wouldn’t be an issue with people with nut allergies.

A great option for when you want something different from the typical faux chinese eateries. The food is pricey but not extravagantly so—you can get wrap up dinner fully within 1.5k per person—and the portions weren’t small. Above all the food was excellent. Would definitely go again.
