I was on my way to visit family in the county and had a craving for a corned beef sandwich. I haven’t eaten at Attman’s in several years, so I was looking forward to it. I went on a late Friday afternoon and was the 4th in line but soon there was a crowd of customers. I ordered 2 lean corned beef sandwiches on rye with mustard. While waiting in line, we were given samples to try. Unlike that famous deli in NYC, there was no tip jar coercing customers to pay for the sample. I love that LOL. It was worth the wait for the sandwiches which were $15 each. The NYC place charges $31 for a lean corned beef sandwich! As you can see, this sandwich can feed two and had a lot of meat in it. The meat was not overly salty. I thoroughly enjoyed it as usual. If I want corned beef sandwich at a good price, I won’t have one in NYC but rather in Baltimore City….unless someone is buying in NYC :).

Who would have thought this baltimore mainstay could get any better. The location at harbor east
Has fantastic outside seating with views of the waterfront. Quality and consistency are the cornerstones of this business. And I am so happy to say that it remains the same, but now, better with this vibrant location. Stop in for to go and a coffee while walking the dog or meet friends and enjoy the day on their huge patio.

Attman’s Deli – Absolutely Crushed It

Got the Stu Special today and holy hell, look at this mountain of corned beef! The meat is ridiculously tender and perfectly seasoned – just melts in your mouth. For $18.39, you’re getting what has to be a full pound of the best corned beef in Baltimore.

Service was on point too. In and out quick even during lunch rush, staff was super friendly, and they didn’t skimp on anything. The pickles on the side were clutch.

This place is the real deal. No fancy BS, just incredible corned beef piled high on fresh rye. Already planning my next visit. If you haven’t been to Attman’s yet, you’re seriously missing out.

10/10 would demolish again.

Not a true NY deli unless you count how cramped in size it is. However, this is the yummiest pastrami outside of Katz deli. They definitely pack your sandwich with a lot of meat. Their pickles are good. The prices are reasonable too. Order in advance so you don’t have to wait in the long line.

The location on Lombard St. is an authentic experience of a traditional Jewish deli. The walls are lined with interesting photos and history. The menu is huge and will have something for everyone. The portions are large, so you can share and try even more items. The line-ups are long, so be patient. You can dine-in or take out. Bring cash and a large appetite!

Attman’s is everything you want in a traditional deli – authentic, delicious, and full of character. The pastrami sandwich was absolutely incredible – tender, flavorful, and piled high. You can really taste the history and care in every bite. The staff was friendly, fast, and made me feel right at home.
The atmosphere has that old-school charm that’s hard to find these days. If you’re in Baltimore, this place is a must-visit.

I’ve been visiting this place for near on 50 years because the corned beef sandwiches are tops. Coddies however were disappointing and disgusting, tasted like dough balls loaded with Old Bay. The lines still move incredibly slow. But love the corned beef.

June 2025:
I ordered a cloak and dagger at Camden Yards. This was a corned beef sandwich with coleslaw and Russian dressing.

My sandwich was very tasty . Had a lot of corned beef. Coleslaw and Russian dressing were great compliments to the corned beef. Would definitely eat this again.

Note that this review was for the Camden Yards location. I think if you eat at the non stadium location, the food would be even tastier! Will definitely come back again and try the food at the non stadium location.

Eating at Attman’s Deli is like stepping into a delicious piece of Baltimore history. Serving the community since 1915, this deli has perfected the art of comfort food with heart. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm, familiar aroma of freshly baked bread, slow-cooked meats, and handmade sides that taste just like tradition.

The sandwiches are generous, flavorful, and clearly crafted with pride. Whether it’s their classic corned beef piled high, a perfectly seasoned pastrami, or one of their daily specials, every bite feels like the product of over a century of know-how. The staff is friendly, attentive, and treats you like a regular whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth.

Atmann’s Deli isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a true Baltimore institution. If you want an authentic deli experience rooted in history, quality, and community, this is the spot. Highly recommended!
