We stopped in after a weekend of skiing and loved the ambiance of the place with the antique bar. Service was fast and friendly and the food was flavorful and fresh and the portions were generous! The salsa was fresh and homemade and deliciously smokey from the char on the produce. The shredded beef and carne asada were well seasoned and so fresh and tender! Definitely a must-stop for anyone traveling through FairPlay!

Usually we are nonstop north or south through Fairplay, but chose this historic venue Mexican due to the great reviews. We enjoyed the salsa, cheese dip, and fully stuffed and tender chicken burrito. Come for happy hour!

The grilled chicken was phenomenal. The chefs are great, the servers are okay.
Me and my partner were the only patrons in the place. It was around 2 o clockish, the team seemed surprised we were there.
It feels like there is a lot of downtime but considering the bits of food and trash on the tables around us it’s not like they couldn’t clean. The place seemed dingy, maybe it’s the rough floors or the overall aesthetic but the creaking boards was a bit of a turn off.

Best authentic poblano stuffed with cheese. Rice has all sorts of veggies which I enjoy vs plain old rice. Servers are attentive without hovering. Chips always warm and salsa spot on. Located in a restored hotel on the main drag. A weekly stop while traveling the 285 corridor.

Great old salon atmosphere. Food is large portions with fresh toppings. Prices are higher, but made 3 meals out of 1 order. Definitely going back.

Excellent food. The salsa looked different than most Mexican restaurants but tasted amazing. Service was acceptable but not stellar. Restrooms were not clean.

Pretty cool historic building. Fast service with friendly servers. Chips and salsa were good…. But pretty sure I was given the house margarita instead of the one with fresh squeezed lime juice after specifying an allergy and it gave me hives. Burrito looked good but the quesadilla had wayyyyy too much cheese, both inside and on top that it wasn’t even eatable.

I’m glad others seemingly had a great experience here. That was not our experience. The salsa was so bad we wouldn’t eat it. The color was also unappealing. (Picture included) We ordered drinks twice (they forgot them the first time) and we’re unimpressed with them when they arrived. To be fair, they were out of the first two drink options we chose on the menu, so it was as if we had to order them three times. We ordered an appetizer of nachos with chicken. The chips were burned, the remaining ingredients simply unflavorful. Not bad, just bland. We chose not to continue to the main course. Hopefully our experience is a one off, but either way we’ll never know because we will never return.

Absolutely love this place. Refried beans and rice were the best I’ve ever had. The Enchiladas Verde were delicious. Ate in the original main bar room and the atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. – the salsa was very unique and had a kick to it
