This Mexican grilled chicken spot in the Mesa area is a true hidden gem. The chicken is cooked over a live charcoal fire, and it really shows—juicy, tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned with that unmistakable grill flavor. Every bite feels intentional and well executed.
We also tried the mac and cheese, which had solid flavor but leaned a bit too salty for our taste. The dipping sauces were good and paired nicely with the chicken, though we wished they packed a little more heat.
Overall, the chicken alone is reason enough to come here. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re in the Mesa area.

The chicken is like perfection. They use mesquite coal to cook the chicken and ribs. The char has a great flavor and the meat is so tender. They don’t own a freezer! They go pick up ingredients every morning! You can tell in the quality of the food. The prices are extremely reasonable and the flavors are great! They even have mac salad! It’s a simple menu — chicken or ribs and sides. But they do it so well!

I had high hopes for this place after the reviews and social media postings but was very disappointed as I ordered a whole chicken and the meat was so dry and flavor wasn’t there. The chicken barely had any meat on it ,the legs seemed to have the most meat overall not sure what happened to the breast meat as it must of been a flat breasted chicken. The macaroni salad was very delicious though! As was the salsa and they give you a big pack of corn tortillas as well.

I have visited this place 3 times, and 2 out 3 they have run out of Pollo being that there name is El Pollo its very awkward that they don’t have any 1 hour before their closing time. We tried it before and it was great. This time, we had to try their ribs, and they are as good, no complaints about the flavor as it is very homemade everything.
Service was polite. Maybe my disappointment is them not having their main dish.
Atmosphere is very plain all they had were couple of TVs’ on, maybe some music will be better as I feel the shows on were more for employees. The place is extremely clean. We got to give them that. Yes, I will come back hoping they have their delicious chicken available.

Great place to get grilled chicken! Way better than pillo Loco or others. If you are looking for a Mexican flavor, grilled chicken, this is the place, super fast service, and the spices they use on the chicken are great a Super Plus is the kind of REAL tortillas they serve you, big delicious yellow corn tortillas, I just not give them a 5 stars because they need to work on their side dishes. We asked for mashed potatoes, and they reheat them in a microwave.
Salsa is good, very look alike than pollo loco,but they can improve it, bad thing is that their Chiles tornados are served cold. Flavor on chicken is great!

The flavor of the chicken was not that great my 14 year old even noticed the lack of sabor de carbon or mesquite flavor . He said it was like they boiled it than grilled it. We drove 20 minutes north just to try this place out , I am certain we will not return . Oh the sopa fria was ok . Kind of pricey for a whole chicken and half pollo , 1 lg side @6.50 with for 4 aguas natural sign said it was 2 bucks for the waters but I was charged more .
