Never been here before. Seen this place many times driving through San Antonio. Decided to try it for once. It’s like a grown up version of Long John Silvers but on steroids. The location was clean and looked really nice. The prices are very reasonable.

The food was iffy for me. It wasn’t bad at all. It just had some miscues. The onion rings were barely fried. They were not golden brown like in the pictures. The fried shrimp were pretty small. They tasted good, but just small. The gumbo was okay but tasted more like something you get out of an HEB deli soup bin.

I would surely come back here. The rest of the menu looks interesting.

I’ve been a big fan of Sea Island for 35+ years.
After 4 poor experiences at the Bandera location, we still wanted to find the old time good Sea Island.
The I-10 location is much better. After a few times back here, it redeemed itself. So we will continue going to that location for now.
Service prompt & friendly.
Food hot and fresh.
Crispy cold cole slaw, hot fries, crispy fish. Love the fried okra. The attendants serving food checked with us multiple times and super attentive.
I suggest they check their buns as during the recent visit they was dry.
Otherwise, hoping future visits will sustain the great food they have historically provided.

Danny Boy served at the table and his service was friendly, and efficient.

The cashier helped me choose a plate because I wasnt familiar with their menu.

The place was well kept as well!

5 Stars all around, would go back!

Now first thing we do love our seafood. Sea Island Shrimp house is a “Fast casual style restaurant”chain, ( ie., Order & pay upfront and they bring it to you.). It reminds us of Willie’s Ice House in concept. They have multiple locations around Texas. Nice, clean, music is not too loud. If you are looking for a 5 star black bow ties wait staff… this is not it. This is true fast sea food in a nice efficient style.
Appetizers – they have a solid selection. We went with the Diablo crab cakes (3 to an order) and they were very good.
We both love da shrimps, so we both succumbed to the expansive Shrimp Feast. For shrimp lovers it is really good. Shrimp 5 ways. Nice. We especially liked the grilled shrimp. Service is nice, quick and very efficient but once they drop off the food they are not going to come by as much as other sit down places. Again this is the restaurant model; not a critique. So ask for what you want up front or be good with flagging someone down. Overall give it a try. Casual experience.

For the price point this is a good restaurant. Very nice staff.
Oh, are hush puppies finger food or not? The debate rages.

The fish tacos were a bit too fishy this time, like they were trying to remind me where they came from. Usually, Sea Island Shrimp House nails it, so this was a surprise. That said, I’d still give the visit five stars overall because everything else reeled me back in.

Service? Top-notch. There was a mix-up where they thought we ordered fish tacos instead of trout, but the server swooped in to save the day like a seafood superhero, issuing a credit faster than I could say, “Hold the tartar sauce.” Thankfully, my spouse spotted the error on the ticket before the food hit the table—proof that reading the fine print isn’t just for lawyers.

The atmosphere? Fantastic. Big-screen TVs showing the football game, plenty of space between tables, and no crowds. Even if the restaurant had been full, I think I could’ve practiced my cartwheels without disturbing anyone.

Oh my gosh, it was wonderful!!! My brother and I went yesterday. Growing up we used to go (with our parents and other brothers) so we were reminiscing about it. We loved going there when we were kids…and after yesterday, I think we loved it as much or even more. The food was wonderful and the service was fabulous. Also, the place was very clean. Thank you Emily and Kayla (and I’m sorry I didn’t get the name of the lady who took our order, but she was very friendly also). Thank you for the great lunch experience.

The food was super delicious, but the service we received made everything 100 times better! Everything had really good flavor, and plates are well served. Prices are good too. Can’t wait to come back.

Over the years, since the 80’s, I have been ordering the lemon pepper fish at Sea Island. It has been remarkably consistent from the beginning. However, today Sea Island failed to provide the meal I was expecting. The fish portion shrank about 50%. With the price increases and dwindling portions, I’ll reconsider in the future. I am hoping this was just some miscommunication with the fish purveyor. I will try again in a couple weeks so I’ll know if this was a management decision or just a mix-up. I always allow for two strikes, but never a third.
