A+ Experience at River & Fort – St. Augustine
River & Fort is truly a top-notch destination and without question one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever visited. The views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset — easily some of the best in St. Augustine.
The space is elegant yet welcoming, the staff is lovely and attentive, and the overall hospitality is exceptional. The food is fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. To top it off, the tequila collection is impressive and well curated, making it a standout for agave lovers.
An unforgettable experience from start to finish. Highly recommended and well worth the visit.
Handcut fries best choice !!

Very nice restaurant and our food was quite good! I really enjoyed the crab claws and French onion soup, and my husband enjoyed the calamari.
We enjoyed our drinks & my gunpowder and guava drink was super pretty.
We did book ahead of time (8 hours or so) to be seated outside, but were told it was unavailable which was disappointing, but we were still sat by a large window and got to see outside which was nice.
Our server was very kind and helpful, and though our dinner was quite pricey (200$+) it was a very nice experience and I will always remember coming here on our trip & recommended it to my mother and father in law who also came here on their st Augustine trip !

10 out of 10!! We had the best dinner! Came here for my birthday with my husband and I can’t say enough good things about the food, service, and waitstaff! Our server was awesome about giving us time to ponder over drinks and the menu, we started with the calamari and it was perfect, I loved the fried peppers that came with it! I had the French dip with fried and my husband had the ocean platter – we both agreed everything was amazing, we had the espresso martinis and hummingbird cake for dessert ( I highly recommend) it was like banana nut bread as a cake!! I loved the relaxed vibe along with the high end feel, nothing felt rushed like they were trying to flip tables and we were just able to relax and take our time! Next time we are in St. Augustine we will 100% be back!!

We were here during nights of lights and man o man were the out of towners being so mean to the staff. It was very busy. Our wait was 30-45min. We were totally fine with that being that we could walk around the Castillo in the meantime. Shame on other customers berating the staff btw. Anyways once we got our table our waitress was amazing, and the food was good. Pretty in presentation and certainly tasty but nothing mind blowing. Still was a great experience!

ASK FOR JESSE! We had Ana amazing dinner here celebrating our anniversary. Jesse nailed the recommendations. The food was fabulous, ambiance was fun and beach. We did have a reservation and I would highly recommend having one. We did show up early so we could check out the roof top – this is first come first serve and was packed when we arrived. We waited a few minutes for seats, so worth it. This is the perfect spot for a special occasion celebration, birthday, graduation, etc! Really enjoyed dining here, everything was awesome!!

I booked this restaurant as my first meal in St. Augustine and I am deeply disappointed. The service was good and the ambience was good– truly stunning views– but the food was gravely lacking. Below is a review of what my meal included:
Crab appetizer: 4 small claws in a sauce that lacked depth and flavor. Way too much tasteless bread as the accompaniment.
Passion fruit cocktail: 10/10 very well done, great portion, excellent garnish.
Tomahawk steak: advertised as 32oz but really was 16oz at best. The meat was a very fatty and a poor cut. We requested medium and they brought rare. The waitress agreed to take the steak back and bring the steak to the right temperature. She then brought back a steak that was burnt to a crisp. Blackened on the outside. It was not palatable and we essentially wasted $110 on the tomahawk steak. Also, they forgot to bring our asparagus. By the time the mashed potatoes returned with the crispy tomahawk, they were cold. The manager tried to make it right by removing $30 from our bill. We appreciate the gesture but what would mean more would be better food.
pic 1: the uncooked bony remains
pic 2: the burnt steak that was returned to us
pic 3: the rare 16oz steak before we dug in
pic 4: crab and bread

Looked up many different sources for good places to eat but not once did any videos or photos show the part of dining room we sat in i had to specifically look up photos of their dining room to find the photo I’m posting. The way this restaurant is perceived online is like its a very upscale classy quiet dinner it was anything but that! The seating is kind of close to each other so didn’t feel very private. We could also hear multiple conversations going on all at once so was kind of louder than we would have liked or expected by the way they make this place appear to be. Food was ok but nothing spectacular my boyfriend and I both got the filet and they gave him the worst cut they probably had.
