Our handcrafted food includes in-house smoked meats and in-house made sausage created for our Chicago Thin and Detroit Style pizzas. We are family friendly and offer free live music every Friday and Saturday night. And trivia most Wednesdays and Sundays.

Love the vibes! Weather permitting, feel free to sit outside but there is plenty of room inside. I enjoyed the pesto flatbread and an “adult” root beer float. So yummy!!!! Everything is good about this place! I sure wish I lived closer! They also have trivia, live music, and more. Check out their website for details and events.

Me and the wife drove to the 219 tap room to see a friends band play The Village Ruckus. We ordered a detroit pizza, pork nachos, a bottle of wine and later tried the old fashioneds. Everything was tasty and of course the music was great. While the pizza was super tasty I dont believe I can consider it detroit style as it didnt seem to come out of a pan and was not deep dish and or thick..it was flat like flatbread but really did have a tasty crust with excellent texture just not like the detroit pizzas im used to eating and I have been craving detroit.

So. 219 Taproom. The one located in down town Chesterton. Actual trash. I’m not one to leave reviews, and if i do it’s usually very positive. However. From the moment we walked in it was clear there was one thing they very much so lack. And that would be CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. Not one person acknowledged us. We had to physically walk up to the kitchen and ask if we seat ourselves since there’s no signage and no one to great the customer. After walking up to the kitchen finally some angry and full of hate blonde woman came out and basically just barked at us telling us everything we need to do. Which was included but not limited to. Seating ourselves, grabbing our menus, waiting for our soft drinks at the bar for almost 5 minutes. Just to not be given or told where the straws were. Then, as we seat ourselves and waited at least 20 minutes for a hot dog and sandwich. Just to receive this as my meal. How this even made it past the cook is beyond me. Then when i went back up to the counter and asked for a manager i was denied being able to speak to one and then for them to try and offer me a new meal. At that point i just wanted it off the bill. This was an absolutely terrible experience 10 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. EVER. I would literally eat gas station sushi before i ate at this place again.

What an outstanding find, everything about this place shines!
Tried the bbq pork and beef sliders along with some street corn, and everything was perfect.
There’s a huge selection of brews to choose from, most everything local or regional.
Donny the bartender/server was an excellent guide for a first time visitor.
Very impressive cleanliness too, with Donny wiping down the tap spouts and surfaces. The bathroom was spotless as well.
Will be returning to try some pizza and flatbread and other drinks.

Experience was wonderful and the most important thing was that every beer was delicious! Another time we came in and a live band was playing and they were Very good! I got the mac and cheese and it was super satisfying!! Husband said the pulled pork sandwich was “smoky, tasty, and very fulfilling; personal preference could have used 10% more sauce, but was very good!”

Went to the soft opening of 219 Taproom before it opened. The place has style! Great location in downtown Chesterton. (Parking might be an issue on European Market days). They hosted a charity event today and other restaurants donated the soups for the “Empty Bowl Project” so I can’t evaluate their food yet. But attentive service and a great look to the place. It has high chairs for families with little ones. When it’s warmer, I think the huge window with bar stools will be the best place in the house. Can’t wait to visit again when they launch later this month!
