We recently held an event here, and everything was amazing. The buffet food, service, atmosphere, everything was fantastic. From Kasey to Jessica in the planning phase, to Leonard, Anthony and service, I can not recommend Hodel’s more.

Been here many times over the years, always a great experience, the best to me is coming here for breakfast but like maybe 30 minutes before they start lunch so you can get both and its awesome.
Service has always been super good. Prices arent terrible either but make sure to come very hungry to get your worth. They have a cool giftshop area and all that as well, sometimes there can be a wait though if church gets out and everyone goes.
I really like that they fly a big American flag at the street also, nice seeing some patriotism in this day and age.

Im new to Bakersfield and certainly not a buffet type person. Took my mom to lunch and Hodels made me a believer. Food was great for the price. Four stars cuz they never brought out the lil Salisbury steak cutlets in gravy that I had the joy of getting a bite before it was gone. Thank you Hodel!!!! Love this place..Clean too…

It’s clean, reasonable. Just good old fashion cooking. Not high end. Just good! It won’t break you. You leave full. People are nice. Try it you’ll like it.

Has an easy going atmosphere, playing smooth jazz of familiar songs usually, not too bright on lighting, and a country aesthetic. Been here multiple times, thrice for dinner, once for lunch, and too many times to count for breakfast and loved it very time. Selection is not too much like most buffets, so you’re much more lax on what you choose instead of trying everything to find what you like. Everything’s good anyway! Attentive service and close by if you need anything. Meats and sides that feel like comfort food at dinners, good lunch choices, and omelette/pancake station with great sweet or savory options at breakfast. Food is always switched out, so always fresh, nothing that looks like it’s been sitting awhile. Went recently the day before Thanksgiving to beat rush of holiday and still had those options! Turkey, Ham, plenty of sides like mashed potatoes, and Cranberry Jello, and plenty of desserts, had a great time!

Stopped by on a late Sunday morning while passing through Bakersfield. All-you-can-eat buffet for $20. There was no wait to get a table for two. Great bacon and eggs, plus tons of other breakfast/brunch options including potatoes, salads, veggies, a large selection of fresh fruits, and desserts, along with a bunch of other stuff I did not try. Staff was running a made-to-order omelet station, a ham carving station, constantly churning out fresh waffles, and restocking everything regularly.
Orange juice was included in the self-serve buffet; coffee and iced tea were separate and delivered by our server.
Great quality and value. Easily worth it. Would come back again.

This place was great. Lots of variety. Roast was excellent, tri-tip was tender, desserts were bountiful and tasty. The staff was super helpful and explained what food was there. Would definitely go back.

I know many people who do not prefer buffets for many reasons, however; Hodel’s in Bakersfield, California has many great qualities that will be preferred by them. The food does not sit on the tray for long periods of time. It is fresh. As a matter of fact, you can order some food of whatever they have available behind the counter! This place has a country style atmosphere. Lots of parking space and a very easy off and back on the 99 freeway and Olive Avenue. Friendly staff and lots of clean restrooms. Fresh salads. Tasty desserts and many options on food. Price is very reasonable for the amount of food and its taste. I honestly recommend this place when looking for a buffet for the whole family or even for yourself. You will be satisfied just like I did…

Division 33 Kiwanis hosted Teen Government Day in Hodel’s Liberty Hall Banquet room this past November. Not only was the food outstandingly fresh and warm for our ~150 guests, but the service was spectacular. When we saw that we had more guests than expected, the Hodel’s team was quick to set up more tables. Some of the Hodel’s team members that helped make the afternoon a success were Liliana, Anthony, Stanley, Marc, & Leonard. These individuals alone, set a very high standard for customer service in Bakersfield.
